Þórir Magnússon
Þórir Magnússon (born 13 February 1948) is an Icelandic former basketball player and the former member of the Icelandic national basketball team. Nicknamed "Rocket Man", he was known as a high scoring guard and led the Icelandic Basketball League in scoring for several seasons. Career On 20 February 1967 Þórir scored a league record 57 points for KFR against ÍS, breaking Einar Bollason’s record of 49 points. For the season he led all players in scoring, totalling 311 points for an average of 31.1 points per game. Þórir led the league again in scoring in 1968, 1970, 1972 and 1973. In 1974, he won his third straight scoring title, setting a then league record in the process with 416 points. On 17 March 1980 Þórir scored 32 points in a 100-93 victory against KR in the last game of the season, guaranteeing Valur the first place in the league and the clubs first national championship. Iceland

Einar Bollason
Einar Gunnar Bollason (born 6 November 1943) is an Icelandic former basketball player, coach and TV analyst. As a player, he won the Icelandic championship six times with KR men's basketball, KR. In 2001, he was named to the Icelandic basketball team of the 20th century and the coach of the 20th century by the Icelandic Basketball Association. In 2020, he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Falcon from the president of Iceland. Early life Einar was born in Vesturbær in Reykjavík. Playing career Club career Einar came up through the junior ranks of ÍR men's basketball, ÍR and played his first senior games at the age of 15. The Icelandic Basketball Association (''Icelandic:Körfuknattleikssamband Íslands - KKÍ'') is the national governing body of basketball in Iceland and is a member of the continental association FIBA Europe and the global International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The 1970 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 19th season of the top tier men's basketball league on Iceland, then known as 1. deild karla. The season started on January 4, 1970 and ended on March 21, 1970. ÍR won their tenth title by beating Ármann 2-0 in the playoffs finals for championship. KR finished in third place after beating KFR, two games to none, in a best-of-three series. Þórir Magnússon led all players in scoring during the regular season, scoring 292 points in 10 games, or 29.2 points per game. Competition format The participating teams played each other twice for a total of 10 games. The top four teams would then enter a playoffs for the championship.
