Ãœnloco
Ünloco is an American nu metal band formed in Austin, Texas. History Ünloco was formed in 2000 by frontman vocalist Joey Dueñas, with Pete Navarrete on drums, Victor Escareño on bass, and Brian Arthur on guitar. That same year, the band released a six-track EP titled '' Useless'' through Captiva Records. The band was signed by Madonna's Maverick label and on March 20, 2001, Ünloco released their debut album ''Healing'' produced by Johnny K. The album struggled to sell, and the band's future with their label was uncertain. Soon after, guitarist Brian Arthur left to join Goldfinger, and was replaced by Marc Serrano. From October to November 2002, Ünloco co-headlined an American tour with Kittie; Clockwise and Acacia supported. Their second effort, ''Becoming i'', was released on March 11, 2003, and was produced by Andrew Murdock – responsible for Powerman 5000, Godsmack, and Chimaira, among other artists. During said year, the band toured with Korn, opened for ''Music a ...

Healing (Ãœnloco Album)
''Healing'' is the debut album by the nu metal band Ãœnloco. It was released on March 20, 2001 via Maverick. ''Healing'' embraced an outlandish alternative metal sound, which meshed appropriately with the band's aggressive, angst-ridden lyrics. Ãœnloco's first single, "Face Down", reflected Maverick's desire to highlight the band's reflective and acoustic edge. The songs "Panic" and "Nothing" were featured in the video game '' Test Drive: Off-Road Wide Open''. Reception Commercially, ''Healing'' failed to gather mainstream attention, and its release flew under the radar during the nu metal phase of the early 2000s period. AllMusic's Michael Gallucci gave the album a highly negative one-and-a-half-star review, noting "There's no explanation for why anyone should listen to these neo-metal knuckleheads when there is already plenty of other rap-metal Rap metal is a subgenre of rap rock and alternative metal music which combines hip hop with heavy metal. Becoming I
''Becoming I'' (stylized in all lowercase) is the second and final studio album by the American nu metal band Ünloco. The album was released on March 11, 2003 via Maverick. Produced by Andrew Murdock, the band's sound took an unexpected, somber turn toward a more melodic, metal-acoustic style. The second offering included two acoustic tracks — "Watching Me Slip" and "Texas". Sonically, the new style combined screams with resolute, poetic candour, surprising old and new fans alike. Despite positive reviews from critics and the promotional support of their label — with appearances at Ozzfest 2003, Music as a Weapon II, and a tour with Korn — the album failed to meet commercial expectations and the band disbanded later the same year (and would not reform until 2014). "Failure" served as the album's single and had a music video which gained minimal airplay. The song "Bruises" is featured in the '' True Crime: Streets of L.A.'' soundtrack as well as ''The Matrix Reloaded'' s ...

Goldfinger (band)
Goldfinger is an American punk rock and ska punk band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. In their early years the band was considered a contributor to the movement of third-wave ska, a mid-1990s revitalization in the popularity of ska. However, the releases of '' Open Your Eyes'' and '' Disconnection Notice'' saw the band shed most of the ska influence, and they have been more commonly placed in the punk rock genre in later years. History Formation, ''Goldfinger'', and ''Hang-Ups'' (1994–1998) Goldfinger was formed by former Electric Love Hogs member John Feldmann on vocals and guitar, Simon Williams on bass, former drummer of Buffalo NY's Zero Tolerance Darrin Pfeiffer on drums, and Charlie Paulson on guitar. At the time the band was formed, Feldmann and Williams were working at the same shoe store where they were discovered by A&R Executive Patrick McDowell. Before they were signed to a major label, they released an EP titled ''Richter'' on the independent la ...

Slaves On Dope
Slaves on Dope is a Canadian metal band based in Montreal, Quebec. History The band was formed in 1993 by Jason Rockman, Kevin Jardine and Avrum Nadigel. The original line-up also included Patrick Francis, and Lenny Vartanian. In 1995, the bass guitarist Francis and the drummer Vartanian were replaced by Frank Salvaggio and Robert Urbani respectively, beginning a new, heavier metal direction for the band. At that time, the Canadian music scene had yet to embrace nu/alternative metal music, so Salvaggio and Urbani decided to make a six-day trip by Greyhound bus from Montreal to Los Angeles, the center of alternative metal, to make contacts and secure showcases for the band. After a year, the band secured a record deal through Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's Divine Recordings, which released their full-length album, ''Inches from the Mainline'', in 2000. The band also toured Ozzfest in 2000, and made an appearance on the SnoCore Tour. The album sold approximately 70,000 copies in the ...
