Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan (August 22, 1926 – November 4, 1984) was a Turkish poet. Life He was born on 22 August 1926 in Tarsus (Mersin Province). He studied in Konya and Eskişehir. He served as an accountant in the Niğde branch office and then in the general directorate of İş Bankası (bank) in Ankara. He retired In 1977 while he was the vice public relations director of the bank. After retirement, he founded an art gallery in İstanbul. He died on 4 November 1984 . Tarık Ümit
Tarık Ümit (22 April 1947 in Düzce – 3 March 1995 in Marmaris) was a Turkish intelligence official in the National Intelligence Organization (MIT). He was kidnapped and murdered in March 1995. Career After his father died, Ümit went to live in Germany to live with his uncle, returning to Turkey in 1968. He joined MIT in 1978, and in the interim is alleged to have associated with mob boss Dündar Kılıç. Ahmet Ümit (born 1960) is a Turkish author and poet. He is best known for his crime novels. Early years Ahmet Ümit was born in Gaziantep, in south-central Turkey, in 1960. His father was a kilim merchant and his mother a tailor. He was the youngest of the seven siblings. He finished his primary and middle school in his hometown. Ümit attended the Atatürk High School, however, finished it in Ergani, Diyarbakır. In 1979, he went to Istanbul to study Public Administration at Marmara University. He met his future wife Vildan during the university years, and married in 1981. They have a daughter Gül. Ümit Şamiloğlu (born 29 September 1980) is a male Turkish artistic gymnast and part of the national team. He competes in the horizontal bar event and has won numerous gold medals in international competition. He is said to be the "oldest gymnast" at competitions in which he takes part. Ümit Özdağ (born 3 March 1961) is a Turkish politician and current Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He was deputy leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) from November 2015 to February 2016. He announced his candidacy for the party leadership for the 8th MHP Ordinary Congress in 2006, but had his membership revoked two days later. After returning to the party following a successful lawsuit, he again announced his candidacy for the MHP leadership in April 2016 for the 2016 Nationalist Movement Party Extraordinary Congress, which was eventually called off after numerous legal disputes. Ümit Korkmaz (; born 17 September 1985) is an Austrian footballer who plays as a winger for Ostbahn XI. Club career Korkmaz was signed by a fifth division club at the age of 18. Ümit Karan (born October 1, 1976) is a Turkish football manager and former player who is currently the manager of Menemenspor. He played for Gençlerbirliği S.K., Ankaraspor, Galatasaray and Eskişehirspor. He made his international debut for Turkey in 1999, and earned a total of 10 caps, scoring 3 goals.
