Ústà Nad Labem Half Marathon
The Ústà nad Labem Half Marathon is an annual half marathon race which takes place in September in Ústà nad Labem, Czech Republic. Known as the ''Mattoni Ústà Half Marathon'', it is a part of RunCzech running circuit. The course winds through Ústà nad Labem city centre on both banks of Labe river and also through Spolchemie chemical plant. The inaugural edition of the event was held in 2011. In 2013, almost 3 000 runners participated in the race. The course records are held by Kenya's Barselius Kipyego and Peres Jepchirchir Peres Jepchirchir (born 27 September 1993) is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who competes mainly in road running competitions. Hendrik Pfeiffer (born 18 March 1993) is a German long distance runner who competed at the 2020 Summer Games in the marathon. Pfeiffer ran at the 2016 European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam but failed to finish the race as he had a heel injury. The heel injury also kept him out of the 2016 Summer Games. He was again selected for the 2018 European Athletics Championships but had to pull out due to injury problems. He won the 2017 Cologne Marathon and at the Vivawest Marathon in Gelsenkirchen in 2018 Pfeiffer set a new world record for the fastest half marathon ever run in a suit. Diana Chemtai Kipyokei (born 5 May 1994) is a Kenyan long-distance runner. She won the women's race at the 2020 Istanbul Marathon (2:22:06). 2021 Boston Marathon and drug ban Kipyokei finished first in the women's race at the 2021 Boston Marathon (2:24:45) on 11 October 2021. In October 2022, the Athletics Integrity Unit announced that she tested positive for triamcinolone acetonide in a test taken after her win.
