Øyvind Torseter
Øyvind Torseter (born 2 October 1972) is a Norwegian artist, illustrator, comic book artist and writer. For his lasting contribution as a children's illustrator, Torseter was a finalist in 2014 for the biennial, international Hans Christian Andersen Award, the highest recognition available to creators of children's books. Biography Torseter has qualifications in illustration from Merkantilt Institutt in Oslo (1991–1992), Skolen for Grafisk Design in Oslo (1992–1994) and Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone (1995–1998). He has illustrated many picture books, including the prize-winning ''Klikk'' (2004), which he also wrote. Torseter works with both traditional and digital picture techniques. He also experiments with graphic effects and three-dimensional paper clips. Jon Fosse
Jon Olav Fosse (born 29 September 1959) is a Norwegian author and dramatist. Biography Jon Fosse was born in Haugesund, Norway. A serious accident at age seven brought him close to death; the experience significantly influenced his adulthood writing. He enrolled in the University of Bergen and studied comparative literature. His debut novel, ''Raudt, svart'' (''Red, Black''), was published in 1983, written in Nynorsk, which at that time was the common written language only in western Norway (it has since become one of the two official written languages of the country). His first play, ''Og aldri skal vi skiljast'' (''And We'll Never Be Parted''), was performed and published in 1994. Fosse has written novels, short stories, poetry, children's books, essays and plays. His works have been translated into more than forty languages. The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) is an international non-profit organization committed to bringing books and children together. The headquarters of the IBBY are located in Basel, Switzerland. IBBY history In 1952, Jella Lepman organized a meeting in Munich, Germany, called ''International Understanding through Children’s Books''. Many authors, publishers, teachers and philosophers of the time attended the meeting and as a result a committee was appointed to create the International Board on Books for Young People – IBBY. A year later in 1953, IBBY was registered as a non-profit organization in Zürich, Switzerland. Inger Maria Alfvén (24 February 1940 – 26 July 2022) was a Swedish author and sociologist from Solna in Stockholm County. Biography Alfvén became a sociologist in 1964 and worked as a counselor. Her books depict existential and moral conflicts such as inherited gender roles, love, lifelong friendship, and loneliness. She had her big breakthrough with the novel ''S/Y Glädjen'' in 1979. The Bologna Children's Book Fair or La fiera del libro per ragazzi is the leading professional fair for children's books in the world. Since 1963, it is held yearly for four days in March or April in Bologna, Italy. It is the meeting place for all professionals involved with creating and publishing children's books, and is mainly used for the buying and selling of rights, both for translations and for derived products like movies or animated series.
