Østfold Workers' Sports Association
The Østfold Workers' Sports Association ( no, Østfold Arbeideridrettskrets, often abbreviated to Østfold AIK), founded 23 October 1927, was a sporting association from Østfold in Norway. It was one of many regional associations within the Workers Federation of Sports (AIF). Member clubs of Østfold AIK Within the Østfold AIK there were many clubs: Football In football, Østfold AIK was the leading club within the AIF. Two Østfold teams, Sprint and Sparta, won 9 of the 16 AIF national football championships held between 1924 and 1939. Østfold AIK occasionally selected a combined football team to play international matches, such as 27 August 1937 when they played the Basque Country. Østfold
Østfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in southeastern Norway. It borders Akershus and southwestern Sweden (Västra Götaland County and Värmland), while Buskerud and Vestfold are on the other side of Oslofjord. The county's administrative seat was Sarpsborg. The county controversially became part of the newly established Viken County on 1 January 2020. Many manufacturing facilities are situated here, such as the world's most advanced biorefinery, Borregaard in Sarpsborg. Fredrikstad has shipyards. Basque Country National Football Team
The Basque Country representative football team (officially, in Basque, 'Euskal selekzioa') represents the Basque Country in football. It selects players from the Basque Country autonomous community, Navarre and the French Basque Country and is organised by the Basque Football Federation. It is not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA and therefore only allowed to play friendly matches against FIFA or non-FIFA affiliated teams. Østsiden IL
Østsiden Idrettslag Fredrikstad is a Norwegian sports club, based in the city of Fredrikstad. The men's football team currently plays in the Norwegian second division. The club was formed as Østsiden IL on 14 June 1935, and includes football and handball branches. The name "Østsiden Idrettslag Fredrikstad" was introduced after a merge between Østsiden IL and the handball club Fredrikstad HK on 29 November 2007. Notable former players on Østsiden IL's male football team include Jørn Andersen and Egil Olsen. The team reached the quarter finals in the Norwegian Football Cup in 1962, after beating FC Lyn in the fourth round. Torsnes
Torsnes is a former municipality in Østfold county, Norway. It is the site of Torsnes Church (''Torsnes kirke''). History Torsnes was created by a split from Borge on 1 January 1910. At that time Torsnes had a population of 1,538. On 1 January 1964, Gansrød and Ulfeng, with 30 inhabitants, were incorporated into Fredrikstad while the rest of Torsnes, with 1,274 inhabitants, was reunited with Borge. Spydeberg
Spydeberg was a municipality in former Østfold county, Norway, until December 31. 2019. At January 1. 2020 it became a part of the new and greater municipality named " Indre Østfold Kommune" after the region, together with Askim and Trøgstad and Eidsberg and Hobøl kommuner (Municipalities). The administrative centre of the Spydeberg municipality was the village of Spydeberg. Spydeberg Kommune (municipality) was divided into the parishes of Spydeberg, Heli, and Hovin and was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The village of Spydeberg has approximately 5,500 inhabitants. It is located southeast of Oslo and is easily reached by both car and bus and train. Råde is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Karlshus.
