Turkish Given Name
A Turkish name consists of an ''ad'' or an ''isim'' (given name; plural ''adlar'' and ''isimler'') and a ''soyadı'' or ''soyisim'' (surname). Turkish names exist in a "full name" format. Önder Çengel (born 21 July 1982) is a Turkish-Swiss former professional footballer who played as a striker. At the start of the 2004–05 season, Turkish champion Fenerbahçe tried Önder and Gökhan Inler in the season start training camp in Germany, but coach Christoph Daum declared that both players could not play for Fenerbahçe. Although wearing shirt no.7, he just made two unused sub appearances for Diyarbakırspor in April 2005. He signed a three-year contract with Gaziantepspor in summer 2007. The twin sisters Ferhan & Ferzan Önder (born October 2, 1965, at Tokat, Turkey) are Turkish people, Turkish-Austrian pianists who perform mostly as a piano duo. At the age of seven, they moved to Ankara to study in the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, State Conservatory. Already at the age of 14, they won a Jury Special Award at the Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Alessandro Casagrande in Terni, Italy. Next, they won the "First Prize" at the International Piano Duo Competition in Hamburg, Germany. In 1985, after winning a competition, which led to a concert in Vienna, the twins decided to move to Austria, where they studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Academy of Music in Vienna with Noel Flores and Paul Badura-Skoda. Önder Åžipal (born 1 May 1987) is a Turkish amateur boxer competing in the welterweight (69 kg) division. He is member of Istanbul Fenerbahçe Boxing Club. His brother Onur Åžipal is also an amateur boxer. Career Åžipal participated at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almería, Spain and won a bronze medal. Önder Turacı (; born 14 July 1981) is a Turkish former footballer who played as a defender. International career Turacı was a Belgian U-21s and played in the 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship. He was included in the squad of Turkish senior team in series of friendlies in summer 2004, and made his debut on 18 August 2004, a friendly match against Belarus. At that time the new FIFA status was in force since 1 January 2004, and had loosened the nationality transfer of players aged under 21. A provision clause of 1 year effectiveness also came in force that any player who already played for one nation youth side, but not the senior, had a chance to apply for nationality transfer, regardless of their age. Fazıl Önder
Fazıl Önder (born 1926) was a Turkish Cypriot journalist who was assassinated. Biography Fazıl Önder was born in Omorphita in 1926. He completed primary school, but was unable to attend secondary school for financial reasons. Thereafter, along with his brother Cemal, he embarked on an apprenticeship in a saddle shop. After the completion of his apprenticeship, he founded a saddle shop of his own with a business partner. From 1949 onwards, he signed up for membership to various trade unions, including the Pancyprian Federation of Labour. In 1951, he started working at the ''Turkish Literature Club (Turk Edebiyat Kulup)''. British educated lawyer Ayhan Hikmet, along with Ahmet Malyo, Derviş Ali Kavazoğlu, Mehmet Edisoğlu, and Önder had created this group to further educate themselves in politics, economics, and ideology, as well as encourage the spread of socialism to members and non-members alike through their activities.
