ﾃ行old Uggadﾃｳttir is an Icelandic film director and screenwriter. She is known for her feature film debut in ''And Breathe Normally'', for which she won the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Life and career ﾃ行old was born in Reykjavﾃｭk. She earned her M.F.A. in directing and screenwriting from Columbia University School of the Arts. Her directorial debut short film, ''Family Reunion (Gﾃｳﾃｰir gestir)'', was an official selection of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. She subsequently directed the short films ''Committed (Njﾃ｡lsgata)'', ''Clean'' and ''Revolution Reykjavﾃｭk (ﾃ嗾rﾃ｡s Reykjavﾃｭk)''. ﾃ行old's debut feature film ''And Breathe Normally'', premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018 and later released on Netflix in January 2019. Halldﾃｳr Kiljan Laxness (; born Halldﾃｳr Guﾃｰjﾃｳnsson; 23 April 1902 窶 8 February 1998) was an Icelandic writer and winner of the 1955 Nobel Prize in Literature. He wrote novels, poetry, newspaper articles, essays, plays, travelogues and short stories. Writers who influenced Laxness included August Strindberg, Sigmund Freud, Knut Hamsun, Sinclair Lewis, Upton Sinclair, Bertolt Brecht and Ernest Hemingway.
