Étienne-Alexis Boucher
Étienne-Alexis Boucher is a Canadian politician. Boucher was elected to represent the riding of Johnson in the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2008 provincial election. He is a member of the Parti Québécois. Boucher is a graduate from the Université de Montréal where he obtained a bachelor's degree in political sciences and started studies for the master's degree in the same field. Boucher defeated the ADQ's Éric Charbonneau to gain the seat which was previously held before by his father Claude Boucher (who served from 1994 to 2007) whom he served as his press secretary. He was also a municipal councillor for the municipality of Saint-Denis-de-Brompton as well as a school commissioner for the Saint-Hyacinthe School Board. Following an electoral redistribution, Boucher ran in the district of Richmond in the 2012 election, but was defeated by Karine Vallières. Parti Québécois
The Parti Québécois (; ; PQ) is a sovereignist and social democratic provincial political party in Quebec, Canada. The PQ advocates national sovereignty for Quebec involving independence of the province of Quebec from Canada and establishing a sovereign state. 2014 Quebec General Election
The 2014 Quebec general election was held on April 7, 2014 to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The incumbent Parti Québécois which had won a minority government in 2012 was defeated by the Quebec Liberal Party under Philippe Couillard who won a majority government of 70 seats, while the incumbent Parti Québécois finished second with 30 seats, becoming the first single-term government since Jean-Jacques Bertrand's Union Nationale government was defeated in 1970. Pauline Marois electoral defeat marked the shortest stay of any Quebec provincial government since the Canadian Confederation. 2012 Quebec General Election
The 2012 Quebec general election took place in the Canadian province of Quebec on September 4, 2012. Lieutenant Governor Pierre Duchesne dissolved the National Assembly on August 1, 2012, following Premier Jean Charest's request. The Parti Québécois were elected to a minority government, with Pauline Marois becoming the first woman to be Premier of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party took second place, with Premier Jean Charest losing his seat. The newly formed party Coalition Avenir Québec led by François Legault took third place, while Québec solidaire took 2 seats out of the 125. Saint-Denis-de-Brompton is a municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec, part of the Regional County Municipality of Le Val-Saint-François, within the larger administrative region of Estrie. Claude Boucher (politician)
Claude Boucher (born September 2, 1942) is a former Quebec political figure. He represented Johnson in the Quebec National Assembly from 1994 to 2007 as a member of the Parti Québécois. He was born in Bromptonville, Quebec (now Sherbrooke, Quebec), the son of Edgar A. Boucher and Yvette Lecours, and was educated at the Université de Sherbrooke.
