MAMCO
The MAMCO () is the contemporary art museum of Geneva, which opened in 1994. The building is a former factory building, with 3000 m2 of exhibition space, it is the largest contemporary art museum of Switzerland. From 1994 to 2015, MAMCO was directed by Christian Bernard; and starting from 2016 until present, MAMCO is directed by Lionel Bovier. James Vibert
James Vibert (15 August 1872 in Carouge, Geneva – 2 May 1942, Plan-les-Ouates) was a Swiss sculptor and educator. He is known as one of the precursors of the Symbolism movement in Switzerland. Biography Vibert was educated as an ironworker in Lyon and moved to Paris in 1891, where he joined the atelier of Rodin and where he associated himself with French Symbolism. After his return to Switzerland he was commissioned for the monumental ''Three Confederates'' completed for the Federal Palace of Switzerland in 1914, and was nominated professor of the Geneva University of Art and Design (formerly École des Beaux-Arts de Genève) at Geneva. His former students included Pierre Le Faguays. Ferdinand Hodler painted two portraits of Vibert, one in 1907 and the other in 1915. Romed Wyder
Romed Wyder (born 1967) is a Swiss filmmaker. He has been established in Geneva since 1989. Biography Romed Wyder was born in 1967 in Brig-Glis, Valais, Switzerland. In 1995, he graduated with a degree from the cinema department of the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) (formerly École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Genève). He is an active member of the Cinéma Spoutnik and founded Laika Films with five other filmmakers in 1993. Romed developed a tape to film system and an online widget generator. Carmen Perrin (born 1953) is a Bolivian-born Swiss visual artist, designer, and educator. She has worked as a sculptor, site-specific artist, and printmaker, as well as worked in the design public garden spaces and public art in collaborate with architects. Louis Octave Maxime Le Verrier, known more commonly as Max Le Verrier, also known by the pseudonym Artus (1891–1973) was a French sculptor. He was known for being a pioneer within the Parisian Art Deco movement, creating decorative art objects often made in bronze as well as historical sculptures. Biography Max Le Verrier was born on 29 January 1891 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France to a French father that was a goldsmith and jeweler, and a mother from Belgium. Pierre Camille Marie Le Faguays (1892–1962) was a French Art Deco sculptor. He also used the pseudonyms Fayral, and Guebre. Le Faguays made statuettes, lamps and decorative objects. Biography Pierre Le Faguays was born in 1892 in Nantes, France. He was a student of James Vibert at the Geneva University of Art and Design (formerly École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Genève). He was married to sculptor Andrée Guebre (also known as Raymonde Guerbe), they never had children. His wife had modeled for many of his works. In 1922, he participated in exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Français. Constant Könz (born 10 February 1929) is a Swiss painter, architect, and sgraffito artist. He is known for decorating houses in sgraffito all over Graubünden. Biography Könz was born in the village Zuoz in 1929. He is the son of the architect and author Iachen Ulrich Könz and Dora Geer. Marcel Bouraine (1886–1948) was a French sculptor. He is known for his work in the Art Deco-era, specifically small statuettes, lamps, bookends, and radiator figures. Biography Marcel Bouraine was born in 1886 in Pontoise, Île-de-France, France. He studied sculpture under the direction of Joseph-Alexandre Falguière. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, the Salon d'Automne, and the Salon des Tuileries (1922). During World War I, Bouraine was a prisoner of war and was taken to Switzerland.
