Åsa Jinder
Åsa Tindra Jinder (born 9 October 1963 in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm County, Sweden is a Swedish nyckelharpa player, composer, producer, songwriter, author and lecturer. She has scored album chart successes in Sweden. She lives in Stockholm. 2006-2017 she lived in Acktjära outside Bollnäs, Hälsingland. In 1979 she was the youngest person ever to be awarded the title of Riksspelman or National Folk Musician. In 1995 Jinder and vocalist Gunnhild Tvinnereim joined Norwegian/Irish instrumental duo Secret Garden as they won the Eurovision Song Contest with " Nocturne". Secret Garden (duo)
Secret Garden is an Irish-Norwegian band specialised in new instrumental music, led by the duo consisting of Irish violinist and singer Fionnuala Sherry and Norwegian composer, arranger and pianist Rolf Løvland. Riksspelmän
The title of riksspelman (, ''National Spelman'') is a generally recognized badge of mastery for Swedish folk musicians. It is an honor bestowed upon bearers of the silver or gold Zorn Badge, awarded annually by the Zorn Jury, a panel of experts under the auspices of Svenska Folkdansringen. The silver Zorn Badge is the highest award attainable for musicians who play before the Zorn Jury in their annual Zorn Trials. (Other possible awards include a certificate, bronze Zorn Badge, and post-bronze certificate.) The gold Zorn Badge cannot be sought, but is reserved for one or two master musicians pre-selected by the Jury. Since the creation of the riksspelman title in 1933, it has been awarded to an average of ten people per year. Sweden today has approximately 300 living riksspelmän. A nyckelharpa (, "keyed fiddle", or literally "key harp", plural ) is the national musical instrument of Sweden. It is a string instrument or chordophone. Its keys are attached to tangents which, when a key is depressed, serve as frets to change the pitch of the string. The nyckelharpa is similar in appearance to a fiddle or the big Sorb geige or viol. Structurally, it is more closely related to the hurdy-gurdy, both employing key-actuated tangents to change the pitch. Astrid Maria Josefine Jinder (née Stove; born 20 February 1988), better known by her stage name Little Jinder, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and record producer. Biography She is the daughter of Björn Stove and Åsa Jinder and granddaughter of Curt Einar Jinder. She lived in England and studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Career Little Jinder made her debut with the ''Polyhedron E.P.'' in August 2008, followed in March 2009 with the ''Youth Blood'' 12" EP – both of which were released by the US record label Trouble & Bass Recordings. She has also toured and played in both Europe and USA. In 2010, she was a panel member of the Sveriges Radio program ''Best i test''.
