Ã…lgÃ¥rd Fotballklubb is a men's football club located in Ã…lgÃ¥rd, Norway that was founded in 1915. Ã…lgÃ¥rd played in Hovedserien, then the highest division in Norway, for several years after World War II. The club has been playing mainly at the third tier level, and was last promoted to 2. divisjon in 2002. In Rogaland, Ã…lgÃ¥rd has one of the largest groups of participants in the sport of football in the clubs and has many teams in the youth league. The available talent keeps the club in 2. divisjon. When Bryne FK was promoted to Eliteserien in 1975, many players were transferred to the club in Jæren. Bryne is only 16 km from Ã…lgÃ¥rd. Players like Birk Engstrøm, KÃ¥re Sivertsen, Sverre Kristian Vaule, Rune Medalen, and Jørgen Rangnes have played for Bryne in Eliteserien. Engstrøm earned a cap for Norway. Ålgård
Ålgård (historic: ''Aalgaard'') is the administrative centre of Gjesdal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the European route E39 highway, about southeast of the city of Sandnes in the Jæren district of the county. The village includes the neighborhoods of Ålgård, Bærland, Fiskebekk, Opstad and Solås. The large lake Edlandsvatnet lies on the south side of the village, emptying into the river Figgjoelva which runs northwest to Sandnes. Rune Medalen (born 13 April 1970) is a retired Norwegian football striker. A first cousin of Linda Medalen, he went from third-tier Ålgård FK in 1992 to being Bryne FK's top goalscorer in 1993 and securing a contract with Viking FK in 1994. Egersund is a town in Eigersund municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The town is located along the southwestern coast of Norway, about south of the city of Stavanger. Klepp IL
Klepp IL is a Norwegian sports club from the municipality of Klepp. It was founded on 1 October 1919, and has sections for football, handball and gymnastics as well as the less active sections for athletics and orienteering. Best known for their women's football team, Klepp Elite women currently play in the Toppserien, and have the distinction of being in the Norwegian top flight since its inception. Additionally, Klepp Elite have won the league in 1987 and 1989. Dagny Mellgren Haugland (; born 19 June 1978) from Ålgård is a former Norwegian footballer. She retired in December 2005 while playing for Klepp. She has also played for Boston Breakers, in the WUSA. Sissel Grude
Sissel Grude (born 17 February 1967) is a Norwegian former footballer, who made 14 appearances for the Norway women's national football team. At club level, she played for Norwegian teams Ålgård FK and Klepp IL. Club career Grude played for Ålgård FK in the Norwegian 2. divisjon. In 1984, she was part of the Ålgård team that lost the regional Rogaland Cup Final 6–3 to Klepp IL. It was Grude's final match for Ålgård, as she signed for Klepp later in 1984. Grude scored 12 goals for Klepp in the 1987 1. divisjon, as Klepp won the league. She scored 16 goals in the 1988 1. divisjon, and 18 goals in the 1989 1. divisjon. She scored two goals in the 1989 Norwegian Women's Cup Final, as Klepp beat Trondheims-Ørn 2–1 to win the competition. Grude retired from football in Autumn 1989, at the age of 22. Sandnes Ulf is a Norwegian association football club from Sandnes, Rogaland, currently playing in the 1. divisjon, the second highest division in the Norwegian football league system. Lyn 1896 Fotballklubb () is a Norwegian football club and a department of the sports club Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn based in Oslo, whose members also participate in Nordic skiing and orienteering. Until 2010, SFK Lyn had two football departments, one professional section and one amateur section.
