The album was released on 4 May 2018 through Candlelight Records. Official videos were released for "Arcana Imperii", "Wake" and "Lend Me the Eyes of Millennia". The deluxe edition also features a bonus track, which is a poem by Edgar Allan Poe. Vegard Sverre Tveitan (born 10 October 1975), better known by his stage name Ihsahn (), is a Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer, best known for his work with black metal band Emperor. Tveitan is also a founding member of Thou Shalt Suffer, where he played guitar and keyboard in addition to vocal duties, and Peccatum, a project in collaboration with his wife and fellow musician Heidi Solberg Tveitan, also known as Starofash. ''Ihsahn'' is the eighth studio album by Norwegian black metal musician Ihsahn. It was released on 16 February 2024 through Candlelight Records and was self-produced by Ihsahn. Critical reception The album received acclaim from critics. Jay H. Gorania from Blabbermouth.net gave the album 8.5 out of 10 and said: "There is no doubt that Ihsahn is one of metal's leading imaginative forces, and this self-titled release is possibly his solo career's high point." Karl Fredrik Henrik ﾃkesson is a Swedish heavy metal guitarist. He is a current member of Opeth and is also active in Krux, Monsters of Metal, and Talisman. Biography ﾃkesson has been playing guitar since the age of 12. His early musical influences include Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum and George Lynch. Marcel Jacob, founder of Talisman, held auditions in 1992 to find a new guitar player after Jason Bieler left them to play with Saigon Kick; the 19-year-old ﾃkesson was selected for the position. He spent almost four years with Talisman and after five records decided to leave them for a heavier outfit. ﾃkesson, Mats Levﾃｩn, John Levﾃｩn, and Rickard Evensand formed a band called Eyeball who would later change their name to Southpaw.
