ﾃ（ne Furey is an Irish singer. She is the daughter of the uileann piper Finbar Furey and the sister of Martin Furey. She and Martin founded a band called Bohinta in 1992. They had a top-ten hit in France, from the album ''Excalibur'', featuring Jean Reno as Merlin. Bohinta released two albums, ''Sessions'' and ''Belladonna''. Furey has dueted with Martin and has accompanied others on various releases. She is a graduate of University College Cork. The uilleann pipes ( or , ) are the characteristic national bagpipe of Ireland. Earlier known in English as "union pipes", their current name is a partial translation of the Irish language terms (literally, "pipes of the elbow"), from their method of inflation. There is no historical record of the name or use of the term ''uilleann pipes'' before the 20th century. It was an invention of Grattan Flood and the name stuck. Finbar Furey (born 28 September 1946) is a multi-instrumental Irish folk musician, best known for his band of brothers, The Fureys. The Fureys were formed in Ballyfermot, Dublin, where they grew up. Early life Finbar Furey was born on 28 September 1946 in Ballyfermot, Dublin. Finbar's well-known musician father, Ted started him on the Uilleann pipes while he was very young. By his teens, he had won three All Ireland Medals, The Oireachtas, and many Feisanna. He was the only piper to win the All Ireland, the Oireachtas medal and the four province titles in the same year. Finbar is an Irish Traveller. Career Finbar popularized the pipes worldwide while on tour with his brother Eddie in the 1960s. The High Kings is an Irish folk group formed in Dublin in 2008. The band consists of Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden, and Paul O'Brien. As of 2020, the group had released five studio albums, four live albums, and two live DVDs, and one greatest hits album. Their first three studio albums appeared at number three or higher on the '' Billboard'' world music chart, the first two went platinum in Ireland, and all of their albums charted in Ireland.
