Western New England University is a private university in Springfield, Massachusetts. Academic programs are provided through its College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Engineering, School of Law, and College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In recognition of its master's and doctoral programs, the institution officially changed its name from Western New England College to Western New England University on July 1, 2011. This marked the return of "university" to the school's name, exactly 60 years after separating from Northeastern University. It had long been classified as a university. History The Springfield Division of Northeastern College, known as Springfield-Northeastern, was established in 1919. Evening classes, held in the YMCA building on Chestnut Street in Springfield for students studying part-time, were offered in law, business, and accounting. West Nile Virus Encephalitis
West Nile fever is an infection by the West Nile virus, which is typically spread by mosquitoes. In about 80% of infections people have few or no symptoms. About 20% of people develop a fever, headache, vomiting, or a rash. In less than 1% of people, encephalitis or meningitis occurs, with associated neck stiffness, confusion, or seizures. Recovery may take weeks to months. The risk of death among those in whom the nervous system is affected is about 10 percent. West Nile virus (WNV) is usually spread by mosquitoes that become infected when they feed on infected birds, which often carry the disease. Rarely the virus is spread through blood transfusions, organ transplants, or from mother to baby during pregnancy, delivery, or breastfeeding, but it otherwise does not spread directly between people. Wilnecote Railway Station
Wilnecote railway station is a small unmanned station serving Wilnecote 1.5 miles (2 km) south of Tamworth town centre in Staffordshire, England. The station is situated beneath a bridge which carries the former A5 Watling Street. History It was opened in 1842 by the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway as Wilnecote and Fazeley, the name being shortened in 1904. In 1889, John William Leader, a corn merchant of Tamworth was killed at the station when crossing the tracks he was struck by an express from Derby. Stationmasters In 1961 Brian A.
