Daniel Knight Udy (21 May 1874 – 29 July 1935) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A hooker, Udy represented Wairarapa at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national side, the All Blacks, from 1901 to 1903. Giles Udy
Giles William Udy (born February 1956) is an English writer and historian of the Soviet Gulag system. He is a member of the council of the Keston Institute and holds an MBA from the Cass Business School. He is a regular contributor to ''The Times'', ''The Daily Telegraph'', the ''Daily Mail'', the ''i'', ''UnHerd'' and the magazine '' Standpoint''. Udy has made a long-term study of the history of the gulag camps of Norilsk, his collection of photographs of which is in the Hoover Institution Archives. His book ''Labour and the Gulag'' (2017) examines the response of the British labour movement to conditions under Stalinism and developed from his earlier Gulag studies after he discovered that the British labour movement had suppressed criticism of conditions in the camps. Gloster Udy
Reverend Gloster Stuart Udy OAM MBE (21 May 1918 – 4 May 2003) was an Australian Uniting Church minister and author. Early life and education Udy was the eldest son of Joseph George Stuart Udy (1885–1959) a Cornish Methodist minister and was one of three brothers who became ministers of religion. James Udy and Richard Udy were his younger brothers. Udy attended Newington College (1933), North Sydney Boys High School and Maitland High School. He studied Arts at the University of Sydney graduating in 1939. War service Udy served during the Second World War as a sergeant and then captain and chaplain to the 2/23 Infantry Battalion. He was at the battle for Tarakan. Christian mission In 1951 he took up a posting as Minister of the Leigh Memorial Church at Parramatta. Hart Udy (27 July 1857 – 6 August 1933) was a New Zealand rugby union player. A forward, Udy represented Wellington Wellington ( mi, Te Whanganui-a-Tara or ) is the capital city of New Zealand. It is located at the south-western tip of the North Island, between Cook Strait and the Remutaka Range. Reverend James Stuart Udy (30 September 1920 – 24 February 2003) was an Australian Uniting Church minister, Master of Wesley College, University of Sydney, author and President of the World Methodist Historical Society from 1977 until 1983. Early life and education Jim Udy was a Methodist minister, and one of three brothers who became ministers of religion. Gloster Udy was his older brother, and Richard Udy was his younger brother.
