Udis (endonym ''Udi'' or ''Uti'') are a native people of the Caucasus that currently live mainly in Russia and Azerbaijan, with smaller populations in Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries. Their total number is about 10,000 people. They speak the Udi language, which belongs to the Northeast Caucasian language family. Udi Language
The Udi language, spoken by the Udi people, is a member of the Lezgic branch of the Northeast Caucasian language family. It is believed an earlier form of it was the main language of Caucasian Albania, which stretched from south Dagestan to current day Azerbaijan. The Old Udi language is also called the Caucasian Albanian language and possibly corresponds to the "Gargarian" language identified by medieval Armenian historians. Modern Udi is known simply as Udi. The language is spoken by about 4000 people in the village of Nij, Azerbaijan, in Qabala District, in Oghuz District, as well as in parts of North Caucasus in Russia. Etawah
Etawah also known as Ishtikapuri is a city on the banks of Yamuna River in the state of Western Uttar Pradesh in India. It is the administrative headquarters of Etawah District. Etawah's population of 256,838 (as per 2011 population census) makes it the one hundred and eightieth-most populous city in India. The city lies southeast of the national capital New Delhi, and northwest of the state capital Lucknow. Etawah is about 120 km east of Agra and is about 140 km west of Kanpur. Udi Gal ( he, אודי גל; born June 11, 1979) is an Israeli Olympic sailor, who is a sailing world championship three-time bronze medalist. Biography Gal is Jewish, and was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. He started sailing at 8 years of age, and started racing at 13 years of age. He competes with the club Hapoel Tel Aviv. He competed with partner Gideon Kliger in two-man competitions from the outset of his career, through 2009. The first event he won was the Youth Europeans 420, in 1996. In 1998 he and Kliger won the European Youth Championships, and in 2001 they finished second in the European Championship in Ireland. In 2004 he was chosen as chair of the Israel Olympic Committee's athletes section. He and Kliger won bronze medals in the Sailing 470 World Championship for three straight years in Men's 470-Class Two-Person Dinghy — in 2006–08. Udi’s Healthy Foods is a brand of gluten-free food owned by Conagra Brands. History Udi's started as a group of cafes in Denver, Colorado, owned by Udi Baron. Baron's first cafe was called Udi the Sandwich Man, which opened in 1994. In 2008, Baron teamed with a gluten-free baker and started producing gluten free products.
