The Display Team
The Display Team are a six-piece independent progressive punk band from South-East London, England. The group has received airplay in the UK on BBC Radio 6 Music and Phoenix FM,phoenixfm.com, CB November 12th 2008', retrieved 26 December 2008 along with many shows podcast by DJs on Kooba Radio which is heard worldwide on the Internet. History Begun in 2000, the band was known as Mumrah until 2006. The original members were Iain MacKenzie (rhythm guitar), Jimb (guitar), Chuckles the Clown (drums and voice), Greg Cruse (bass) and DJ Implant (voice and turntables). This incarnation was short-lived and Implant and Cruse left the band; Iain MacFrenzy assumed the position of lead vocalist and Nixo (bass) became a full-time member. The band expanded to include Mickey Bones (trombone, voice) and Tiny Tommy Toot-Fruit (Arif Driessen, trumpet and voice, now of UK/US ambient rock band *Shels). Cardiacs
Cardiacs are an English rock band formed in Kingston upon Thames by Tim Smith (lead guitar and vocals) and his brother Jim (bass, backing vocals) in 1977 under the name Cardiac Arrest. The band's sound fused circus, baroque pop and medieval music with progressive rock and post-punk, adding other elements like nursery rhymes and sea shanties. Tim Smith was the primary lyricist, noted for his complex and innovative compositional style. He and his brother were the only constant members in the band's regularly changing lineup. Uxfest
Uxfest was a charity festival held in Uxbridge, England from 1997 to 2004 and then in Islington, London, England in 2006. It was organised and run by the local youth centre, Fountain's Mill. Bands received no payment for performing although they did receive a contribution towards petrol costs. Notable bands who played at the Uxfest include Lostprophets, Raging Speedhorn, Stampin' Ground and Knuckledust. History The first Uxfest took place in 1997 following in the Fountain’s Mill Youth Club tradition of yearly festivals supported by the Council and run by the Youth Club. The central idea was to have a scheme run "By young people, for young people". The Mad Caddies (or the Caddies) are a ska punk band from Solvang, California, United States. The band formed in 1995 and has released seven full-length albums, one live album, and two EPs. To date, Mad Caddies have sold over 500,000 albums worldwide. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock.
