The Coathangers
The Coathangers are an American all-female punk rock/garage band band from Atlanta, Georgia featuring singer/guitarist Julia Kugel-Montoya (Crook Kid Coathanger), bassist Meredith Franco (Minnie Coathanger) and singer/drummer Stephanie Luke (Rusty Coathanger). Formed in 2006, the band chose the name "Coathangers" which refers to a dangerous method of self-induced abortion; all of the band's members are pro-choice. Long-time keyboardist Candice Jones (Bebe Coathanger), left the band amicably in 2013. The band was asked to open for the Hiss on the strength of their performance playing a house show. Since then they have headlined shows in the United States and abroad. In addition, several times they have appeared as the support act for fellow Atlanta band Black Lips's New York City concerts. Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2000, the band's lineup of Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds (lead guitar/vocals), Bill Kelliher (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals) has remained the same since 2001. ''The Watt From Pedro Show'' is a music radio show and podcast hosted by bassist, vocalist and songwriter Mike Watt. Background In the late 1990s, Watt began hosting a program on a Pirate radio station in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. After the FCC shut down the station, Watt's friends suggested he take his show online. The program debuted on May 19, 2001. Audacity is an American garage rock band from Fullerton, California, United States. History Audacity was formed in 2001, when members Kyle Gibson, Matt Schmalfeld, Cole Wilson, and Chuck Mordant were in 6th grade. Nü Sensae
Nü Sensae is a Canadian punk and grunge trio from Vancouver composed of bassist-vocalist Andrea Lukic, drummer Daniel Pitout, and guitarist Brody McKnight. In 2012, ''Spin'' magazine named them in their list of top 5 best new artists. Nü Sensae are currently signed to Suicide Squeeze Records. Refused (also known as the Refused) is a Swedish hardcore punk band originating from Umeå and formed in 1991. Refused is composed of vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarist Kristofer Steen, drummer David Sandström, and bassist Magnus Flagge.
