The Animation Show
The Animation Show is a touring festival of animated short films that was first held in fall 2003. It was sponsored by MTV, and was created by award-winning animators Mike Judge and Don Hertzfeldt. Due to its association with MTV, the showcase was not intended for children, as the festival was more aimed at adult audiences, with its main kid-friendly equivalent being Nickelodeon's '' Nicktoons Film Festival'', presented by Frederator Studios. Mike Judge
Michael Craig Judge (born October 17, 1962) is an American actor, animator, writer, producer, director and musician. He is the creator of the animated television series ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' (1993–1997, 2011, 2022–present), and the co-creator of the television series ''King of the Hill'' (1997–2010), ''The Goode Family'' (2009), ''Silicon Valley'' (2014–2019), and '' Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus'' (2017–2018). He wrote and directed the films ''Beavis and Butt-Head Do America'' (1996), ''Office Space'' (1999), ''Idiocracy'' (2006), and ''Extract'' (2009), and co-wrote the screenplay to '' Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe'' (2022). Judge was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and raised in the U.S. state of New Mexico. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied physics. Georges Schwizgebel
Georges Schwizgebel (b. 1944) is a Swiss animation film director whose paint-on-glass-animated 2004 film ''L'Homme sans ombre'' (''The Man With No Shadow'') won various awards. Biography Schwizgebel was born on 28 September 1944 in Reconvilier, Canton of Berne ( Jura bernois), in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. From 1960-65 he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Décoratifs at Geneva. In 1970 he founded Studio GDS with Claude Luyet et Daniel Suter, where he produced and directed animated films as well as working in graphic design. From 1986 to 1995 he worked on retrospectives and exhibitions, among others, in Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Osaka, Paris and New York. In 2012, the artist donated some drawings on paper, paintings on cellulose (the customary technique of Schwizgebel) and pastels to the Swiss Film Archive, thus constituting the ''Georges Schwizgebel Papers''. The ''International Tournée of Animation'' was an annual touring program of animated films that started in 1965 as The First Festival of Animated Film with each selected and assembled from films from many countries around the world and which existed from the 1970s to the 1980s-90s. Typical program content As released to cinemas, college campuses, and art museums and centers across the United States, a typical Tournée program ran about 105 minutes and consisted of 15 to 24 animated films in the 16mm format, each running from 1 or 2 minutes to 15 or 18 minutes each in length. Fantastic Animation Festival
Fantastic Animation Festival is a package film of animation segments, set mostly to music and released to theaters in 1977. It was one of the earliest of the sort of collections typified by Computer Animation Festival and Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation (the co-founders of the latter, formerly known as Festival of Animation, send out flyers of ''Fantastic Animation Festival'').
