The 1982 European Super Cup
The 1982 European Super Cup was contested between the European Cup holders Aston Villa and the Cup Winners' Cup holders Barcelona. The match took place over two legs in January 1983. The first leg was won by Barcelona 1–0 at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, but Aston Villa won 3–0 at Villa Park after extra time to take a 3–1 aggregate win. Marcos Alonso (footballer, Born 1959)
Marcos Alonso Peña (born 1 October 1959) is a Spanish retired football player and manager. Known simply as Marcos in his playing days, he played mainly as a right winger but appeared also as a forward. He amassed La Liga totals of 302 games and 46 goals over the course of 13 seasons, ten of which were spent with Atlético Madrid and Barcelona (five apiece). A Spanish international during the 1980s, Marcos represented the nation at Euro 1984, helping it finish second. Club career Marcos was born in Santander, Cantabria. After passing unsuccessfully through Real Madrid's youth ranks, he made his La Liga debuts for hometown's Racing Club de Santander, still not aged 18, being already an automatic first-choice in his second professional season, which ended in relegation. Pichi Alonso
Àngel "Pichi" Alonso Herrera (born 17 December 1954) is a Spanish retired football striker and manager. A player with a prolific scoring rate, though he never won the Pichichi Trophy, he represented, amongst others, both Barcelona major clubs during his career. He amassed La Liga totals of 261 games and 107 goals over the course of 11 seasons and won five major titles, all with FC Barcelona. Urbano Ortega
Urbano Ortega Cuadros (born 22 December 1961), known simply as Urbano, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a midfielder. Over the course of 16 La Liga seasons (18 for his career), he amassed totals of 301 games and 16 goals, mainly for Espanyol and Barcelona. Club career Urbano was born in Beas de Segura, Province of Jaén. After starting out at Real Jaén and RCD Español, he signed with Catalonia neighbours FC Barcelona in 1982. Francisco José Carrasco Hidalgo (born 6 March 1959) is a Spanish retired football player and manager. Nicknamed Lobo, he played as a winger spending most of his 14-year professional career with Barcelona (11 seasons). Víctor Muñoz Manrique (born 15 March 1957), known simply as Víctor in his playing days, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a midfielder, and a manager. An all-around midfield unit, he was best known for his great physical strength that helped him tire his opponents in the early stages of the match. He spent most of his professional career with Barcelona, winning a total of eight major titles and amassing La Liga totals of 332 games and 25 goals; in the competition, he also represented Zaragoza.
