Structure The deep transverse metacarpal ligament connects the palmar surfaces of the heads of the second, third, fourth, and fifth metacarpal bones. It is blended with the palmar metacarpophalangeal ligaments. Its palmar surface is concave where the flexor tendons pass over it.
