Gentofte Municipality
Gentofte Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark (''Region Hovedstaden'') on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. It covers an area of , and has a total population of 74,548 (1 April 2014). Since 17 May 2021, its mayor has been Michael Fenger, a member of the Conservative People's Party (''Det Konservative Folkeparti''). Gentofte is the most wealthy municipality in Denmark and consists of several fashionable Copenhagen suburbs such as Hellerup and Charlottenlund. The municipality is an amalgamation of three formerly independent towns, and several other local settlements, all close to one another. The site of its municipal council is in Charlottenlund. Albert Toft
Albert Toft (3 June 1862 – 18 December 1949) was a British Sculpture, sculptor. Toft's career was dominated by public commemorative commissions in bronze, mostly single statues of military or royal figures. The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897, Second Boer War, Boer War to 1902, and then World War I to 1918, provided plentiful commissions. The ''Oxford Dictionary of National Biography'' describes Toft as one of the major figures of the "New Sculpture" following on from William Hamo Thornycroft and George Frampton. Toft described his work as 'Idealist' but he also said of himself that "to become an idealist you must necessarily first be a realist." His father was a notable modeller in ceramics, and his brother was the landscape artist Joseph Alfonso Toft. Toft is a village situated in Cambridgeshire, England. It is approximately six miles to the west of Cambridge, and is situated within four miles of the M11 motorway. It has approximately 600 residents and 200 homes. Comberton Village College and Comberton Sixth Form fall within the Toft Parish boundary. The village has two churches, St Andrew's Parish Church and Toft Methodist Church.Just to the east of the village is Cambridge Meridian Golf Club, which has the Prime Meridian running through the 14th fairway. Malcolm Toft
Malcolm Toft is an audio engineer and businessman who worked at Trident Studios, first as an audio engineer, then as the studio's manager, and eventually as co-founder of recording console maker Trident Audio Developments. Toft went on to form another console company, Malcolm Toft Associates, which eventually led to the founding of Toft Audio Designs and to Ocean Audio. Mary Toft
Mary Toft (née Denyer; c. 1701–1763), also spelled Tofts, was an English woman from Godalming, Surrey, who in 1726 became the subject of considerable controversy when she tricked doctors into believing that she had given birth to rabbits. In 1726, Toft became pregnant, but following her reported fascination with the sighting of a rabbit, she miscarried. Her claim to have given birth to various animal parts prompted the arrival of John Howard, a local surgeon, who investigated the matter. He delivered several pieces of animal flesh and duly notified other prominent physicians, which brought the case to the attention of Nathaniel St. André, surgeon to the Royal Household of King George I. Toft, Cheshire
Toft is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is located immediately to the south of Knutsford and is split by the A50 road to more southern Holmes Chapel. The village comprises several farms and a small picturesque church. Monica Duffy Toft is an American international relations scholar. Her research interests include international security and strategy, ethnic and religious violence, Civil war, civil wars, and the relationship between demography and national security. Among her researches, her theory of indivisible territory explains how certain conflicts turn violent while others not, and when it is likely for a conflict to become a violent. Alfonso Toft (Birmingham 1866–1964), was a British landscape artist. He was the son of Charles Toft (1832–1901) and was born in the Birmingham suburb of Handsworth. He came from a family of Staffordshire pottery artists. His father was a principal modeller for Wedgwood pottery from 1876–88 and also an artist. His brother was the sculptor Albert Toft. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
