Théâtre Mogador
Théâtre Mogador, founded in 1913 with design by Bertie Crewe, is a Parisian music hall theatre located at 25, rue de Mogador in the 9th district. It seats 1,800 people on three tiers. In 1913 financier Sir Alfred Butt rented an area in Paris. Built according to English music hall principles and style during World War I, the theatre was originally named the "Palace Theatre", after the like-named one in London, in order to appeal to British soldiers. The name was shortly thereafter changed to "Théâtre Mogador", Mogador being the old name of the town of Essaouira in Morocco. The inauguration guests include President Wilson, in France to negotiate the Treaty of Versailles. It was inaugurated by US president to be Franklin Delano Roosevelt April 1919. Marcel Merkès
Marcel Merkès (7 July 1920 – 30 March 2007) was a French tenor operetta singer. Merkès was born in Bordeaux. After receiving several prizes in singing at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux, he started at the age of 22 years at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in the role of Des Grieux in ''Manon'', an opera by Jules Massenet. He often performed an operetta duo with his wife :fr:Paulette Merval, Paulette Merval, a singer and violinist, who he had met at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux. They totaled more than 10,500 performances and recorded many records in their careers. He was a prolific performer at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris. Ivo Johannes Ignatius Niehe (born 31 May 1946) is a Dutch radio and television presenter, television producer and actor. Biography Niehe was born in Amsterdam in 1946. He studied French at the University of Amsterdam and received a graduate degree in French Language and Literature in 1973. Starmania is a Canadian- French cyberpunk rock opera written in 1976 with music by Michel Berger and book and lyrics by Luc Plamondon. It debuted in 1978 with a studio recording of the songs, before premiering on stage in 1979. Several of its songs have passed into mainstream Francophone pop culture, and helped original cast members Daniel Balavoine and Diane Dufresne to rise in popularity in France; it is now considered one of the most famous rock operas in French history. James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931September 30, 1955) was an American actor.
