State Sports Centre
The State Sports Centre (known commercially as the Quaycentre) is a multi-use indoor arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and was opened in November 1984. With a total of 3,854 fixed and retractable seats the main arena is a focal point of the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. An additional 1,152 portable seats can be accommodated on the floor level to bring seated capacity to 5,006. History Basketball and netball In 1986, Centre became home to Sydney's then two National Basketball League (NBL) teams, the Sydney Supersonics and West Sydney Westars. When they merged before the 1988 NBL season to form the Sydney Kings, the new team remained at the centre and would stay for two years before moving to the 12,000 seat Sydney Entertainment Centre (SEC) in 1990. Patrick Antoine Edouard Chila (born 27 November 1969 in Ris-Orangis, Essonne) is a French table tennis player who has competed at five Olympics from 1992 to 2008. He won a bronze medal with Jean-Philippe Gatien in doubles at the 2000 Olympics. He is also four-time champion of France (1998, 2003, 2007, 2008). Yang Ying () is a Chinese table tennis player, born 13 July 1977 in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. She achieved gold medals at several World Table Tennis Championships in either doubles or team play. Wang Nan (table Tennis)
Wang Nan (; born October 23, 1978 in Fushun, Liaoning) is a female Chinese table tennis player from Liaoning. Wang remained as world #1 on the ITTF ranking system from January, 1999 to November, 2002. She is left-handed, and began playing table tennis when she was seven years old. Her particular skills are changing the placement of the ball during rallies and her loop drive, as well as her notable speed. Wang has been the leader of the women's table-tennis team of China after Deng Yaping's retirement. In terms of achievements, she is one of the most successful female table tennis players (alongside Li Xiaoxia, Deng Yaping, Ding Ning, Zhang Yining) having won the gold medal in each of the Table Tennis World Cup, the Table Tennis World Championships, and the Olympic Games. Jean-Philippe Gatien
Jean-Philippe Gatien (, born 16 October 1968 in Alès, France) is a retired French table tennis player. He competed at four Olympics from 1988 to 2000, winning silver in the singles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and bronze in doubles (with Patrick Chila) at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He won the World Table Tennis Championships in 1993, the Table Tennis World Cup in 1994, and was 13-time "champion de France". A left-handed player, his offensive style featured a superb forehand smash. He also won three English Open titles. Following numerous injuries, Gatien retired on May 15, 2004. Having made his debut with French club AS Salindres, he made his final public appearance there in an exhibition match with Patrick Chila, June 2006. His long list of victories make him the greatest French table tennis player of all time.
