A matriculation examination or matriculation exam is a university entrance examination, which is typically held towards the end of secondary school. After passing the examination, a student receives a school leaving certificate recognising academic qualifications from secondary-level education. Depending on scores or grades achieved, a student may then matriculate to university to take up further studies. Te'udat Bagrut (, ''lit.'' "maturity certificate", Arabic: شهادة بجروت) is a certificate that attests that a student has successfully passed Israel's high school matriculation examination. Bagrut is a prerequisite for higher education in Israel. The ''Stúdentspróf'' () is an educational diploma in Iceland, which allows them to matriculate at university and take up their studies. Studies leading to the Stúdentspróf generally take three years to complete, and most students finish their Stúdentspróf in their 19th year of age, after 13 years of formal schooling. The grading scale ranges in steps of 0.5 from 0 to 10, 10 being the highest.
