Sairat
''Sairat'' () is a 2016 Indian Marathi-language romantic tragedy film directed by Nagraj Manjule and produced by Manjule himself under his banner Aatpat Production along with Nittin Keni and Nikhil Sane under Essel Vision Productions and Zee Studios. Starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in their debuts, it tells the story of two young college students from different castes who fall in love, sparking conflict between their families. Manjule conceived the story in 2009, basing it on his experiences of caste discrimination, but scrapped it when he decided that it was boring. After making ''Fandry'' (2013), he revisited the story and completed its script the following year. The screenplay was written by Manjule, and his brother Bharat penned the dialogues. ''Dhadak'' () is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language romance film written and directed by Shashank Khaitan and jointly produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the Dharma Productions banner with Zee Studios as a sponsor producer. Akash Thosar (born 24 February 1994) is an Indian actor who appears in Marathi cinema and Bollywood. He is best known for his role as Parshya in the 2016 Marathi film ''Sairat''. Nagraj Popatrao Manjule (Marathi pronunciation: aɡɾaːd͡ʒ maɲd͡ʒuɭeː born 24 August 1978) is an Indian film director, actor, producer, scriptwriter, poet, screenwriter, filmmaker and he works in the Marathi Cinema, best known for his Marathi film Sairat, short-film Pistulya for which he received National Film Award in Non-Feature Film category. Ajay-Atul is an Indian music composer duo comprising brothers Ajay and Atul Gogavale.
