Sportal.bg is a sports media website. It was launched on March 15, 2006 in Sofia, Bulgaria. It employs over 40 journalists delivering over 300 daily news items from all over the world. The site currently receives over 1,000,000 page views daily. Sports journalism is a form of writing that reports on matters pertaining to sporting topics and competitions. Sports journalism started in the early 1800s when it was targeted to the social elite and transitioned into an integral part of the news business with newspapers having dedicated sports sections. The increased popularity of sports amongst the middle and lower class led to the more coverage of sports content in publications. Sofia
