''Spooks'' (known as ''MI-5'' in some countries) is a British television spy drama series that originally aired on BBC One from 13 May 2002 to 23 October 2011, consisting of 10 series. The title is a popular colloquialism for spies, and the series follows the work of a group of MI5 officers based at the service's Thames House headquarters, in a highly secure suite of offices known as The Grid. Spooks (group)
Spooks was an American hip-hop group, active from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s. The members of the group got together in 1994, taking their name from the 1969 novel by Sam Greenlee, '' The Spook Who Sat by the Door''. Career After attaining success throughout Europe with their album '' S.I.O.S.O.S., Vol. 1'', Spooks garnered a hit with the single, " Things I've Seen", which featured in the Laurence Fishburne film ''Once in the Life'' (2000) as well as the intro for the European version of the American TV series '' Dark Angel''. Shortly afterwards, Spooks followed up with the number 16 on the top 40 charts hit "Karma Hotel." The Beautiful Girls are an Australian roots music group founded in Sydney in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Clay MacDonald, and Mitchell Connelly. Spook Hill
Spook Hill is a gravity hill, an optical illusion in Lake Wales, Florida, where cars appear to roll up the spooky hill. Spook Hill is located on the Lake Wales Ridge, a geologically significant range of sand and limestone hills, which were islands from two to three million years ago, when sea levels were much higher than at present. The attraction is adjacent to Spook Hill Elementary School, which adopted Casper The Friendly Ghost as their school mascot. The attraction is also close to the Bok Tower. Spook Hill received national media attention when an article about it appeared on the front page of the ''Wall Street Journal'' on October 25, 1990, and it was featured in a segment on ''CBS Morning News'' with Charles Osgood on November 5, 1990. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. Spook (crater)
Spook crater is a small crater in the Descartes Highlands of the Moon visited by the astronauts of Apollo 16. The name of the crater was formally adopted by the IAU in 1973. Geology Station 2 is adjacent to Spook, between it and the smaller, younger crater called Buster to the north of it. On April 21, 1972, the Apollo 16 Lunar Module ''Orion'' landed about 500 m east of Spook, which is between the prominent North Ray and South Ray craters. The astronauts John Young and Charles Duke explored the area over the course of three EVAs using a Lunar Roving Vehicle, or rover. They stopped at Spook during EVA 1, on the way back to the LM from Flag crater. Spook crater is approximately 340 m in diameter and over 20 m deep. ''The Wizard of Id'' is a daily newspaper comic strip created by American cartoonists Brant Parker and Johnny Hart. Beginning November 16, 1964, the strip follows the antics of a large cast of characters in a shabby medieval kingdom called "Id". The title is a play on '' The Wizard of Oz'', combined with the Freudian psychological term '' id'', which represents the instinctive and primal part of the human psyche. In 1997, Brant Parker passed his illustrator's duties on to his son, Jeff Parker, who had already been involved with creating ''Id'' for a decade. In 2002, the strip appeared in some 1,000 newspapers all over the world, syndicated by North America Syndicate. Hart's grandson Mason Mastroianni took over writing duties on the strip after Hart's death in 2007. Spook Bridge, located on the county line between Brooks County and Lowndes County in the U.S. state of Georgia, is an abandoned open spandrel arch bridge crossing the Withlacoochee River on a closed section of Old Quitman Highway (also known as Blue Springs Road, formerly U.S. Route 84). It is considered Lowndes County's most famous relic and is decaying, becoming a dangerous site, due to its abandonment. For decades, it has served as the center of urban legends and small town curiosity in the nearby cities of Quitman and Valdosta. Plot First glimpsed stalking through a cemetery, a phantom is seen, wearing a hat, mask and coat (who, being magical, will later be shown to be able to fly as well as pass through small openings). While travelling through the air, the phantom finds a studio where actors are making auditions while others are doing rehearsals. As he enters, he sees a female cat weeping. The phantom approaches her and asks why she is crying. Speaking unintelligibly, the cat tells him she desperately wants to sing at the audition and possibly make it to concerts. Spook Cave
Spook Cave is a flooded cave located about west of McGregor in rural Clayton County, Iowa. It is privately owned and operated as a tourist attraction offering escorted boat rides into the cave. The cave was first discovered in 1953 and opened for business in 1955. The cave entrance is located on a property that also includes a campground and cabins. The cave is in the drainage of Bloody Run Creek, a small tributary of the Upper Mississippi River. A lock and dam maintain water levels sufficient for boat access; the cave's stream is allowed to drain to its natural, shin-high depth during the winter.
