Ruk (area)
Ruk ( arz, الروك) is a Coptic word, from RoshMuhammad Amara Mostafa Amara: ''قاموس المصطلحات في الحضارة الإسلامية.'' Dar al-Shroq, 1993. p. 261 (Coptic: ⲣⲱϣ), which means measuring the land in acres and valuing it, that is, estimating its degree of fertility in order to estimate the ''Kharaj'' on it.
