The Rottweiler (, ) is a breed of domestic dog, regarded as medium-to-large or large. Ladislav Rott (5 June 1851 in Prague – 27 May 1906 in Bad Ischl) is one of the sons and eight children of Vincenc Josef Rott, founder of the V. J. Rott company in Prague, Malé náměstí (1840). V. J. Rott Abbey (german: Kloster Rott) was a Benedictine monastery in Rott am Inn in Bavaria, Germany. Vladimir Rott, a Canadian engineer turned author, was born in 1935 in the Soviet Union, into a family of immigrants from Hungary. In 1974, during a visit to Toronto he defected to Canada, leaving behind his wife and three children in Togliatti, Russia.
