''Ricky'' is a 2009 French fantasy film directed by François Ozon about a human baby who develops a set of functional wings, and how the parents cope with the child's abnormality. Plot Katie (''Alendra Lamy'') lives with her daughter Lisa (''Mélusine Mayance'') in welfare housing in eastern Paris. Their family is disrupted when Katie falls in love with Paco (''Sergi López''), her Spanish co-worker in a cosmetics factory. A baby is born after Paco moves in. The child, who they name Ricky (Arthur Peyret), becomes a source of anxiety and unwelcome surprise as he is noisy and demanding. To make matters worse, Ricky's shoulder blades begin growing wings. Ricky was a dog who received the Dickin Medal in 1947 from the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals for bravery in service during the Second World War. Military service During the Second World War, Ricky, a Border Collie/Old English Sheepdog cross, was purchased by the father of Sheila Litchfield-Stander for seven shillings and six pence in Hastings while he was on Home Guard duty. The dog had previously been owned by a family who found themselves destitute. Soon afterwards, the Litchfield family moved to Sedlescombe, and again in 1941 they moved to Kent near to Biggin Hill airbase. After suffering from food shortages due to the ongoing rationing, Ricky was offered to the War Office to become a war dog. Ricky was an English indie rock band. Career Ricky formed in Portsmouth, England in the autumn of 2000. The band's first release was a self-funded mini-album, released in January 2002, titled ''You Set The Scene'', named after the last track on ''Forever Changes'', an album by Love. The record gained strong reviews, but the band didn’t realise the commercial success the press attention suggested. Between 2004 and 2006, they had a number of small chart hits on the Garcia and Beat Crazy record labels, including a Top 40 hit in January 2005 with "Stop Knocking The Walls Down". This song was a double-A sided single, backed with "The Journey" by Ian Prowse's band Amsterdam and would give Ricky their only week in the Top 40.
