In the music industry, a reissue (also re-release, repackage or re-edition) is the release of an album or single which has been released at least once before, sometimes with alterations or additions. For example, thousands of original vinyl albums have been reissued on CDs since introduction of that format in the early 1980s. The Fame Monster
''The Fame Monster'' is a reissue of American singer Lady Gaga's debut studio album, ''The Fame'' (2008), and was released on November 18, 2009, through Interscope Records. Initially planned solely as a deluxe edition reissue of ''The Fame'', Interscope later decided to release the eight new songs as a standalone EP in some territories. The decision was also because Gaga believed the re-release was too expensive and that the albums were conceptually different, describing them as yin and yang. The deluxe edition is a double album featuring the eight new songs on the first disc and ''The Fame'' on the second disc. A super deluxe edition was released on December 15, 2009, holding additional merchandise, including a lock from Gaga's wig. ''Cannibal'' is the first extended play (EP) by American recording artist Kesha, released on November 19, 2010. The EP is a follow-up companion to her debut album, ''Animal'' (2010). Cop Killer (song)
"Cop Killer" is a song composed by Ernie C with lyrics by Ice-T for American heavy metal band Body Count (band), Body Count, of which they were both members. Released on Body Count's 1992 Body Count (album), self-titled debut album, the song was written two years earlier, and was partially influenced by "Psycho Killer" by Talking Heads. The song's lyrics about "cop killing" provoked negative reactions from political figures of the time, such as then-President George H. W. Bush, as well as his vice-president Dan Quayle. Others defended the song on the basis of the band's First Amendment rights. Ice-T has referred to it as a "Protest song, protest record". Ice-T eventually recalled the album and re-released it without the inclusion of the song, which was given away as a free single. A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. Super Audio CD (SACD) is an optical disc format for audio storage introduced in 1999. It was developed jointly by Sony and Philips Electronics and intended to be the successor to the Compact Disc (CD) format. The SACD format allows multiple audio channels (i.e. surround sound or multichannel sound). It also provides a higher bit rate and longer playing time than a conventional CD.
