In economics, scarcity "refers to the basic fact of life that there exists only a finite amount of human and nonhuman resources which the best technical knowledge is capable of using to produce only limited maximum amounts of each economic good."Samuelson, P. John Rarity
John G. Rarity is professor of optical communication systems in the department of electrical and electronic engineering at the University of Bristol, a post he has held since 1 January 2003. He is an international expert on quantum optics, quantum cryptography and quantum communication using single photons and entanglement. Rarity is a member of the Quantum Computation and Information group and quantum photonics at the University of Bristol. Education Rarity was educated at the University of Sheffield (BSc) and awarded a PhD from the Royal Military College of Science in 1984 for research on spectroscopy applied to coagulating dispersions. Research and career Prior to moving to the University of Bristol in 2001, Rarity worked as a physicist at the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) arm of the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom). ''My Little Pony Crystal Princess: The Runaway Rainbow'' is a 2006 direct-to-video animated musical fantasy adventure film produced by SD Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment in association with Hasbro. The film is the third feature in the third incarnation of the My Little Pony series and the second film to promote the Crystal Princess line. Unlike ''The Princess Promenade'', the film has been criticized. The DVD also features two more animated features, ''Greetings from Unicornia'' and ''Friends are Never Far Away'', which was originally released on video in 2005. Rarity (band)
Rarity is a Canadian post-hardcore band from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, formed in 2014. The band consists of lead vocalist Loeden Learn, guitarists Adam Clarke, bass guitarist Cole Gardner, and drummer Evan Woods. They signed with Rise Records and released their debut EP, ''Alive In Your Eyes'' in 2015. The band released their debut studio album, ''I Couldn't Be Weaker'', in April 2016. The group has toured with multiple musical groups such as Silverstein, Vanna, Being As An Ocean, Emarosa, Coldrain, Seaway and State Champs. Career Before the formation of Rarity, Learn, Pasquale, Woods, and Stojsavljevic formed the easycore band Safe and Sound. After the band was displeased with its musical direction, they disbanded and formed the pop punk group Face Value, which garnered attention from Good Fight and Rise Records.
