Railway Station Of Figline Valdarno
The railway station of Figline Valdarno serves the Tuscan town of Figline Valdarno. The station situated on the Florence–Rome railway line, 40 km from Florence, on the stretch between Florence and Arezzo. It is mostly used by commuters coming from Figline Valdarno, Reggello and Pian di Scò going to Florence. Figline Valdarno railway station is the seventeenth station (for number of passengers, architectural value of the station etc.) of Tuscany. The freight yard is no longer used and the buildings are let to members of the public or used for stocking equipment for line maintenance. Figline Valdarno () is a ''frazione'' in the ''comune'' of Figline e Incisa Valdarno in the Metropolitan City of Florence in the Italian region of Tuscany, located about southeast of Florence. Montevarchi is a town and '' comune'' in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy. History The town of Montevarchi sprang up around 1100, near to a fortified Benedictine monastery, founded by bishop Elempert (986–1010) of Arezzo. At first the castle belonged to the Marquis Bourbon del Monte di Santa Maria, then to the Count Guidi family. In 1273 ownership passed to the Signoria of Florence.
