The Rising Stars Challenge is a basketball exhibition game held by the National Basketball Association (NBA) on the Friday before the annual All-Star Game as part of the All-Star Weekend. The current format to be used in 2022 includes first- and second-year NBA players and NBA G League Ignite players selected by the NBA's assistant coaches. Four people, designated as "honorary coaches", draft players for their respective teams. History The Rookie Challenge, established in 1994, was originally competed by two randomly selected teams composed entirely of first-year players. This format was continued until 1996, when it was changed to pit rookie teams of both the Eastern and the Western Conference against each other. Armin Jozef Jacobus Daniël van Buuren ( , ; born 25 December 1976) is a Dutch DJ and record producer from Leiden, South Holland. Since 2001, he has hosted ''A State of Trance'' (ASOT), a weekly radio show, which is broadcast to nearly 40 million listeners in 84 countries on over 100 FM radio stations. Rising Star Casino Resort (previously the Grand Victoria Casino & Resort) is a riverboat casino and hotel in Rising Sun, Indiana, US, owned and operated by Full House Resorts. History The Indiana Gaming Commission in June 1995 selected a Hyatt-affiliated project in Rising Sun to receive a riverboat gaming license. The Grand Victoria II casino opened in October 1996. The Grand Victoria opened a 200-room hotel and an entertainment pavilion in July 1997, with a grand opening ceremony hosted by Robin Leach and Rich Little. The Rising Stars were a Zimbabwean first-class cricket team that was formed in 2017. They played their home matches at Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield, Harare. The team was founded by Zimbabwe's former Test cricket captain Tatenda Taibu. They played in Zimbabwe's domestic cricket competitions, starting with the 2017–18 Logan Cup. In October 2017, they lost their opening first-class fixture in the Logan Cup to the Mid West Rhinos by 7 wickets. Despite the loss, Zimbabwe's former captain Brendan Taylor praised the team saying that they have some excellent bowlers and deserve their first-class status. The AFL Women's Rising Star award is presented annually to the best young player in the AFL Women's (AFLW) during the home-and-away season. The first award was awarded in 2017. The award has been sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB) since 2017.
