Alan Righton
Alexander Alan Righton (1905–1982) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. Background Righton was born in Redfern, New South Wales on 18 February 1905. Playing career Righton went on to become one of South Sydney Rabbitohs greatest fullbacks, and a premiership winner. Righton was a South's junior, and made his first grade debut in 1925. He went on to play seven seasons with South Sydney between 1925 and 1931, and played in three premiership winning teams in 1925, 1926 and 1928. He represented N.S.W. City Firsts in 1929 and played for New South Wales New South Wales (commonly abbreviated as NSW) is a States and territories of Australia, state on the Eastern states of Australia, east coast of :Australia. Caroline Anne Righton (born 26 February 1958) is an English television presenter and author, best known for being a presenter on the daily breakfast television station TV-am and being an anchor of the Channel 4 news show '' The Channel Four Daily''. At the 2010 general election, Righton was the Conservative candidate for the new St Austell and Newquay constituency but lost to the Liberal Democrats. Biography Born Caroline Donovan in Bristol, Righton worked in several restaurants and hotels when she was a teenager; however, she had always intended to become a journalist. Thomas Edward Corrie Burns Righton (1838 – January 1899), known as Edward Righton, was an English actor. Righton began his career in Liverpool in 1850. Among many other London roles, Righton played the role of Verges in ''Much Ado About Nothing'' and Mr. Furnivail in ''Two Roses''. He created the role of Lutin in ''The Happy Land'', a musical burlesque written in 1872 by W. S. Gilbert Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (18 November 1836 – 29 May 1911) was an English dramatist, librettist, poet and illustrator best known for his collaboration with composer Arthur Sullivan, which produced fourteen comic operas. Edward Righton Junior
Edward Grantham Righton (24 September 1912 – 2 May 1986) was an English first-class cricketer who played four matches for Worcestershire, two in 1934 and two in 1936. He batted at six in the 1934 matches, and opened in the 1936 games, but was not a success in either role: his innings were 6, 0, 0, 19, 1, 0 and 1; the 19 came against Derbyshire in June 1936. Righton was born in Evesham, Worcestershire, and died in the same town at the age of 73. His father Edward Edward is an English male name. Edward Grantham Righton (23 November 1884 – 3 January 1964) was an English first-class cricketer who played four matches for Worcestershire County Cricket Club, Worcestershire between 1911 and 1913. Although he had appeared for Worcestershire's Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship as early as 1907, Righton made his first-class debut in July 1911, playing against Leicestershire County Cricket Club, Leicestershire at New Road, Worcester, Worcester. It proved to be by far the most successful of his four games at this level: Righton hit a first-innings 48 and took his only first-class wicket, that of England cricket team, England Test cricketer Albert Knight (cricketer), Albert Knight.
