Arthur James Ranson (born 1939) is an English comic book illustrator, known for his work on ''Look-in'', '' Anderson: Psi Division'', '' Button Man'' and '' Mazeworld''. His work on Cassandra Anderson has been called "photo-realistic". Early life Born in 1939, Ranson's childhood and formative years included access to the influences of art and artists in a mixture of British and American comics, including " heBeano, Knockout, heDandy, Film Fun, Wizard, Hotspur..., The Eagle with Frank Hampson setting new standards. Paul Ranson
Paul-Élie Ranson (29 March 1861 – 20 February 1909) was a French painter and writer associated with Les Nabis. Biography He was born in Limoges. His mother died in childbirth, so he was raised and educated by his grandparents and his father, , a politician who served two terms as Mayor of Limoges. He received his first drawing lessons from his grandfather, Jean-Jacques Maquart, and was enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts Appliqués à l'Industrie in 1877. In 1884, he married his first cousin, Marie-France Rousseau, and studied for a time at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs before transferring to the Académie Julian, where he studied with Tony Robert-Fleury from 1886 to 1891. In 1888, he became one of the five founding members of "Les Nabis", a group that played a large role in the transition from Impressionism to the various styles of Modern art. Vincent Trevor Ranson (29 March 1912 – 6 October 1996) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Launceston and Scottsdale in the Northern Tasmanian Football Association (NTFA) and St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He was inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame in 2005. Ranson appeared in the opening two rounds of the 1934 VFL season The 1934 VFL season was the 38th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. John George Ranson (1 April 1909 – 1992) was an English footballer who played as a centre forward. Ranson started his career with Norwich City during the 1928–1929 season, but never made an appearance. Between 1930–1936, Ranson played league football for Swansea Town, Chester, Gateshead, Millwall, Carlisle United and Lincoln City. During this period, Ranson also played non-league football for Colwyn Bay United and Burton Town.
