R.e.m.IX
''r.e.m.IX'' is a 2002 remix album of songs by R.E.M. from its 2001 album '' Reveal''. Copies of that album were given to well-known remixers to see what they could do with its tracks and the band's favorite results were compiled to form this album. Out of the twelve original tracks on ''Reveal'', six are found among the ten tracks on this album—there are two different versions of "The Lifting" and four of "I've Been High." "I'll Take the Rain" was the only one of ''Reveal''s three singles to be included on ''r.e.m.IX''. The album has never been commercially released, but it was made available as a free download from the band's Web site and as a promotional Compact Disc and vinyl LP from Warner Bros. Records. This was the second promotional music download from R.E.M. (after '' Not Bad for No Tour'') and was intended to introduce their music to a wider audience. Critical reception The album received mixed-to-poor reviews. '' Flak Magazine''s James Norton praised it for the pr ...

Music video The single's music video, directed by David Weir, represented the first time the band has released an entirely animated music video. Electronica
Electronica is both a broad group of electronic-based music styles intended for listening rather than strictly for dancing and a music scene that started in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom. In the United States, the term is mostly used to refer to electronic music generally. History Early 1990s: origins and UK scene The original wide-spread use of the term "electronica" derives from the influential English experimental techno label New Electronica, which was one of the leading forces of the early 1990s introducing and supporting dance-based electronic music oriented towards home listening rather than dance-floor play, although the word "electronica" had already begun to be associated with synthesizer generated music as early as 1983, when a "UK Electronica Festival" was first held. At that time electronica became known as "electronic listening music", also becoming more or less synonymous to ambient techno and intelligent techno, and was considered distinct from other em ...

An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at  rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the album era. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though album sales in the 21st-century have mostly focused on CD and MP3 formats. The 8-track tape was the first tape format widely used alongside vinyl from 1965 until being phased out by 1983 and was gradually supplanted by the cassette tape during the 1970s and early 1980s; the popularity of the cassette reached its peak during the late 1980s, sharply declined during the 1990s and had largely disappeared dur ...

He was a part of Indian Summer and Mohinder before assuming the moniker "Her Space Holiday" in 1996. However, after being approached by Chocolate River Industries to record a 12-inch EP, Her Space Holiday became Bianchi's full-time project. Since the release of Her Space Holiday's first EP, the band has released six full-length albums, several singles and EPs, and a remix album. Matthew Herbert (born 1972), also known as Herbert, Doctor Rockit, Radio Boy, Mr. Vertigo, Transformer, and Wishmountain, is a British electronic musician. He often takes sounds from everyday items to produce electronic music. Career Matthew Herbert released his first album, ''100 Lbs'', in 1996, which “gathers early 12″s from a time when Herbert was very much a ‘dance music’ producer”. In 1998, Herbert issued ''Around the House'' with Dani Siciliano, which mixed dance beats, sounds generated by everyday kitchen objects, and vocals. By the late 90's, Herbert was remixing tracks for dance artists like Moloko, Motorbass, Alter Ego, and others. (Many of these were later collected on ''Secondhand Sounds: Herbert Remixes''.) He also recorded singles, EPs, and albums under a variety of aliases (Doctor Rockit, Radio Boy, Mr. Vertigo, and Transformer) as well as his own name. In 2001, Herbert issued '' Bodily Functions''. Now It's Overhead was an indie rock band fronted by singer/songwriter Andy LeMaster and based in Athens, Georgia. In 2004 they released their sophomore, critically acclaimed album '' Fall Back Open'', which included a duet with Michael Stipe of R.E.M., a long-time supporter of the band.
