	Possible Worlds (film) ''Possible Worlds'' is a 2000 Canadian film adaptation of the 1990 play of the same name by John Mighton. The film is directed by Robert Lepage, and stars Tom McCamus and Tilda Swinton. The film's musical score is by George Koller. Mighton approached Lepage to direct an adaption of his play. Lepage, who had seen a tape of Daniel Brook's minimalistic 1998 production, agreed to the request. He liked Mighton's combining of art and science and the theme of diverse, multilayered identity. The Australian film festival ''Possible Worlds'', running since 2006, was named after the film. Plot synopsis The film follows the script of the play. George Barber (Tom McCamus) is a mathematician having strange dreams. He continuously meets a woman, Joyce (Tilda Swinton), at a bar. 	Possible Worlds (play) ''Possible Worlds'' is a play written in 1990 by John Mighton. The author, Mighton, is a mathematician and philosopher. His plays tend to meld science, drama and math into one cohesive piece. It is part murder mystery, part science-fiction, and part mathematical philosophy and follows the multiple parallel lives of the main character George Barber. Mighton, a mathematician from University of Toronto's Fields Institute, brought his considerable professional experience to bear on the writing of the play. At the play's beginning, George is found dead, with his brain missing. Two detectives set out to uncover the truth behind his grisly death, and stumble upon several strange characters. 	Peter Porter (poet) Peter Neville Frederick Porter Medal of the Order of Australia, OAM (16 February 192923 April 2010) was a British-based Australian poet. Life Porter was born in Brisbane, Australia, in 1929. His mother, Marion, died of a burst gall-bladder in 1938. He was educated at the Anglican Church Grammar School (then known as the Church of England Grammar School) and left school at 18 to work as a trainee journalist at ''The Courier-Mail''. However, he only lasted a year with the paper before he was dismissed. He emigrated to England in 1951. On the boat he met the future novelist Jill Neville. Porter was portrayed in Neville's first book, ''The Fall Girl'' (1966). After two suicide attempts, he returned to Brisbane. Ten months later he was back in England. 	Markus Stockhausen Markus Stockhausen (born 2 May 1957) is a German trumpeter and composer. His recordings and performances have typically alternated between jazz and chamber or opera music, the latter often in collaboration with his father, composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. Biography Born in Cologne, West Germany, he is the son of composer Karlheinz Stockhausen and the pianist and pedagogue Doris Stockhausen. At age four he appeared as "child at play" in his father's theatre piece '' Originale''. He received his first piano lessons at age six, and at age twelve he began to play the trumpet.
