Park Connector
The Park Connector Network (PCN) of Singapore is a network of walking/running/cycling paths that connects the various parks and other green spaces in Singapore. Both the parks and the PCN are managed by National Parks Board (NParks). As part of the National Cycling Plan to promote cycling, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is constructing networks of cycling paths within towns. These cycling paths connect with the PCN, enabling people to safely cycle both intra-town (e.g., from home to MRT station) and inter-town (longer distance cycling). National Parks Board
The National Parks Board (NParks) is a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development of the Government of Singapore. History In November 1989, Minister of National Development, S. Dhanabalan, presented the National Parks Bill in Parliament to form a body to manage the three parks, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Fort Canning Park and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, in Singapore. In March 1990, Minister of State for National Development, Lee Boon Yang introduced the National Parks Bill in Parliament to form the National Parks Board as a statutory board. On 6 June 1990, the National Parks Board was formed to manage the three parks. On 1 July 1996, the Parks and Recreation Department was merged with the National Parks Board. Kallang Riverside Park () is a riverine park in Kallang, Singapore. It sits on the confluence of the Kallang River and Rochor River, north of the Kallang Basin. Elaboration The 7-hectare park is a popular water sports site in Singapore. A stretch of beach within the park is popular location for picnics. Facilities for exercising include fitness equipment and jogging-cum-cycling tracks. East Coast Park
East Coast Park is a beach and a park encompassing Marine Parade, Bedok and Tampines, along the southeastern coast of Singapore. It was opened in the 1970s, after the Singapore government had completed reclaiming land off the coast at Katong which extends from Changi to Kallang. It serves these and other seaside communities.
