Palmar Aponeurosis
The palmar aponeurosis (palmar fascia) invests the muscles of the palm, and consists of central, lateral, and medial portions. Structure The central portion occupies the middle of the palm, is triangular in shape, and of great strength Its apex is continuous with the lower margin of the transverse carpal ligament, and receives the expanded tendon of the palmaris longus. Its base divides below into four slips, one for each finger. Each slip gives off superficial fibers to the skin of the palm and finger, those to the palm joining the skin at the furrow corresponding to the metacarpophalangeal articulations, and those to the fingers passing into the skin at the transverse fold at the bases of the fingers. The deeper part of each slip subdivides into two processes, which are inserted into the fibrous sheaths of the flexor tendons. From the sides of these processes offsets are attached to the transverse metacarpal ligament. By this arrangement short channels are formed on the front ... Palmar Branch Of Ulnar Nerve
The palmar branch of the ulnar nerve arises about five cm proximal to the wrist from where the ulnar nerve splits into palmar and dorsal branches. It supplies sensory innervation to a small area in the palmar surface of the wrist. The palmar branch represents the continuation of the ulnar nerve as it crosses the flexor retinaculum of the hand on the lateral side of the pisiform bone, medial to and a little behind the ulnar artery. Some sources state that it ends by dividing into a superficial and a deep branch. (Other sources state that the [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Palmar Digital Veins
The palmar digital veins (or volar digital veins) on each finger are connected to the dorsal digital veins by oblique intercapitular veins. Some sources distinguish between the "proper palmar digital veins", which are more distal, and the "common palmar digital veins", which are more proximal. Cathedral-Basilica Of Our Crowned Mother Of Palmar
The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Crowned Mother of Palmar ( es, Catedral-Basílica de Nuestra Madre del Palmar Coronada) is a basilica church in El Palmar de Troya, Spain. The church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Palmar, serves as the only cathedral and 'Mother church' for the Palmarian Christian Church, a schismatic Independent Catholic denomination not in communion with the Vatican. History The cathedral sits on the location of reported apparitions of Our Lady of Palmar. Construction on the church began in 1978 and was finished in 2014. The church was built as a "Spanish Vatican" for the Pope of the Palmarian Christian Church, a Traditionalist Catholic church which broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in the 1970s. Inside the cathedral there are fifteen chapels dedicated to the Holy Family, the Holy Trinity, St. Francis of Assisi, the Souls in Purgatory, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ignatius of Loyola, Christ the King, the Blessed Sacrament, ... Palmar Branch Of The Median Nerve
The palmar branch of the median nerve is a branch of the median nerve which arises at the distal part of the forearm. Branches It pierces the palmar carpal ligament, and divides into a lateral and a medial branch; * The ''lateral branch'' supplies the skin over the ball of the thumb, and communicates with the volar branch of the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve. * The ''medial branch'' supplies the skin of the palm and communicates with the palmar cutaneous branch of the ulnar. Clinical significance Unlike most of the median nerve innervation of the hand, the palmar branch travels superficial to the Flexor retinaculum of the hand. Therefore, this portion of the median nerve usually remains functioning during carpal tunnel syndrome Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the collection of symptoms and signs associated with median neuropathy at the carpal tunnel. Most CTS is related to idiopathic An idiopathic disease is any disease with an unknown cause or mechanism of appar ... Palmar Carpal Ligament
The palmar carpal ligament (also volar carpal ligament or ''Guyon's Tunnel'') is the thickened portion of antebrachial fascia on the anterior of the wrist. It is officially unnamed.Moore, Keith L., Arthur F. Dalley II: ''Clinically Oriented Anatomy'', 4th ed. Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins,1999. The palmar carpal ligament is a different structure than the flexor retinaculum of the hand, but the two are frequently confused. The palmar carpal ligament lies superficial and proximal to the flexor retinaculum. The ulnar nerve and the ulnar artery run through the ulnar canal, which is deep to the palmar carpal ligament and superficial to the flexor retinaculum. The palmar carpal ligament is continuous with the extensor retinaculum of the hand, which is located on the posterior side of the wrist. Palmar Crease
A palmar crease is a type of crease on the palm. A single transverse palmar crease also called simian crease is sometimes associated with Down syndrome. Other types of creases include the Sydney crease and the Suwon, or double transverse palmar crease. Our Lady Of Palmar
Our Lady of Palmar ( es, Nuestra Señora del Palmar), known formally as Our Crowned Mother of Palmar ( es, Nuestra Madre del Palmar Coronada), is a Palmarian Christian title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with an alleged Marian apparition in the Spanish village of El Palmar de Troya in 1968. The apparition is not recognized by the Roman Catholic Church but is recognized by the Palmarian Christian Church, a schismatic Independent Catholic denomination. The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Crowned Mother of Palmar, the mother church of the Palmarian Christian Church, serves as the major shrine of Our Lady of Palmar and was built on the site of the alleged apparition. Marian apparition On 30 March 1968 four school girls from El Palmar de Troya reported having apparitions of "a very beautiful lady" on a tree near the Alcaparrosa field, just outside of the town in Spanish Andalusia, while they were picking flowers. In the following year, several other people reported apparitions an ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
