Fred Olen Ray (born September 10, 1954) is an American film producer, director, and screenwriter of more than 200 low-to-medium-budget feature films in many genres, including Horror film, horror, science fiction, action film, action/adventure film, adventure, erotic thrillers, crime dramas, and holiday films. Ray is the head of Retromedia, which releases DVDs of both his own productions and archival films. He has also worked for other well-known independent studios and on a few occasions for major Hollywood studios. He has been cited as an inspiration for many independent filmmakers. Robert Olen Butler (born January 20, 1945) is an American fiction writer. His short-story collection '' A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain'' was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1993. Early life Butler was born in Granite City, Illinois, to Robert Olen Butler Sr., an actor and theater professor who became the chairman of the theater department of Saint Louis University, and his wife, the former Lucille Frances Hall, an executive secretary. Butler attended Northwestern University as a theater major ( BS, 1967) and switched to playwriting at the University of Iowa ( MA, 1969). Butler served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971, first as a counter-intelligence special agent for the Army and later as a translator. He rose to the rank of sergeant in the Army Military Intelligence Corps. Olen () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. Olen Lovell Burrage
Olen Lavelle Burrage (March 16, 1930 – March 15, 2013) was a Mississippi farmer and businessman. He was alleged to have been linked to the murders of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner who were murdered by the Ku Klux Klan in June 1964. The bodies of the Civil Rights workers were found buried in an earthen dam that was under construction on a farm owned by Burrage. Background Burrage was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi, on March 16, 1930. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a truck mechanic during the 1950s. He was honorably discharged and later started Burrage Trucking, Inc. In 1956 Burrage bought a farm in Neshoba County. By 1964 Burrage had acquired several additional tracts of land where he grew corn and raised cattle. Playing career Olen played at Spring Hill College, where he was part of three-straight Badgers' NAIA national tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2000. Olen ( grc, Ὠλήν) was a legendary early poet from Lycia who went to Delos, where his hymns celebrating the first handmaidens of Apollo in the island of the god's birth and other "ancient hymns" were still part of the cult at Delos in the time of Herodotus: The hieratic poetry of Olen is now entirely lost. Pausanias wrote, "The Lycian Olen, an earlier poet, who composed for the Delians, among other hymns, one to Eileithyia, styles her 'the clever spinner', clearly identifying her with fate, and makes her older than Cronos."
