Olden is a village and urban area in the municipality of Stryn in Vestland county, Norway. Olden is located at the mouth of the Oldeelva river at the northern end of the Oldedalen valley on the southern shore of the Nordfjorden. It is located about southwest of the village of Loen, about a drive southeast of the municipal center of Stryn, and about east of the village of Innvik. The village has a population (2019) of 479 and a population density of . Attractions Olden is a major tourist area. The cruise port in Olden had 102 cruise ship arrivals in 2019. Olden is an unincorporated community in Eastland County, Texas, United States. Olden has a post office with the ZIP code 76466. Olden is located on I-20 between Ranger and Eastland in northern Eastland County. The community originated as a railroad town on the Texas and Pacific Railway. It was known as Olden Switch and came to life with expectations of silver discoveries. Silver was not found, but Olden survived to benefit from the county oil boom that began in 1919. In 1945, Olden had 500 residents, but by 1980 the population had fallen to 110, where it remained in 1990. In later years, however, the population saw an increase. Charles Smith Olden
Charles Smith Olden (February 19, 1799April 7, 1876) was an American merchant, banker, and politician who served as the 19th governor of New Jersey from 1860 to 1863 during the first part of the American Civil War. As Governor, Olden supported President Abraham Lincoln and the national war effort but favored union and reconciliation with the South above all else; before the war, he argued slavery was properly understood as the sole regulatory province of the states, and he later opposed Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. His mansion, Drumthwacket, was bought by the state in 1966 and became the official residence of the governor of New Jersey in 1981. George Elliott Olden (November 13, 1920 – February 25, 1975) was an American graphic designer who worked in television and advertising. Working at CBS, Olden helped to create the visual identities of shows such as Gunsmoke, I love Lucy, and Lassie. In 1963, Olden became the first African-American to design a postage stamp, creating a design commemorating the centennial of the Emancipation Proclamation. Olden was an AIGA medal-winning graphic designer, and a Japanese magazine, ''Idea'', once listed him among the top fifteen designers in the United States.
