Nimal Gamini Amaratunga
Ranasinghe Arachchige Nimal Gamini Amaratunga is a Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. He was appointed in January 2005. Amaratunga compteted his primary education from Maliyadeva College in Kurunegala. Thereafter, Amaratunga attended University of Colombo obtaining a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) in 1970. In October 1972 he was called to the Bar. He joined the Attorney General's Department in 1978 as an Acting State Counsel was appointed a State Counsel on 1 June 1979. Whilst still at the Attorney General's Department, in 1984, he obtained the Post Graduate Degree of Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Colombo. Amaratunga has also obtained a second Post Graduate degree of 'Master of Laws' from the International Maritime Law Institute in Malta, in 1990. Air Vice Marshal Nimal Herat-Gunaratne, VSV, USP, SLAF was the Director Health Services of the Sri Lanka Air Force from 1992 to 2011 (19 years). Opanayake Nimal Piyatissa (born 5 January 1968) is a Sri Lankan politician, former provincial minister and Member of Parliament. Piyatissa was born on 5 January 1968. Nimal Rajapakse is a Sri Lankan-born academic and engineer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a professor of engineering at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada. Education After a year in a school in his village near Attanagalla, he came to Olcott College and after a year entered Ananda College in grade three. Four generations of his family studied at Ananda College. He gained admission to the University of Ceylon in 1973 from where he graduated with a degree in civil engineering in 1977. He received a scholarship to study at Asian Institute of Technology in 1979, from which he received a master's degree in 1981 and a Doctor of Engineering in 1983. Professor Nimal Senanayake is a Sri Lankan neurologist, physician, author, film and television scriptwriter and academic. Education Senanayake was educated at the University of Peradeniya. He trained at the Professorial medical unit at General Hospital Colombo, working alongside HHR Samarasinghe and Kumaradasa Rajasuriya.
