Norman John Rowe (born 1 February 1947) is an Australian singer and songwriter of pop music and an actor of theatre and soap opera for which he remains best known as Douglas Fletcher in 1980s serial '' Sons and Daughters''. As a singer he was credited for his bright and edgy tenor voice and dynamic stage presence. Many of Rowe's most successful recordings were produced by Nat Kipner and later by Pat Aulton, house producers for the Sunshine Records label. Backed by his band, The Playboys, Rowe released a string of Australian pop hits on the label that kept him at the top of the Australian charts and made him the most popular solo performer of the mid-1960s. Norman Kwong
Norman Lim Kwong (born Kwong Lim Yew; ; October 24, 1929 – September 3, 2016) was a Canadian football player who played for the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was also an active businessman and politician being part owner of the Calgary Flames and serving as the 16th Lieutenant Governor of Alberta from January 2005 to May 2010. The son of Chinese immigrants from Taishan, Guangdong, Kwong was the first Canadian professional gridiron football player of Chinese heritage. In addition, Kwong was also the first person of Chinese heritage to serve as lieutenant-governor of Alberta. As a former vice-regal representative of Alberta, he was styled "The Honourable" for life. Norman Stanley Glick (November 10, 1927 – March 19, 1989) was an American professional basketball player who was a forward (basketball), forward for one season in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Minneapolis Lakers during the 1949–50 season. He attended Loyola Marymount University. Glick was born in New York City and played his first three season of high school basketball at William Howard Taft High School (New York City), William Howard Taft High School before his family moved to Los Angeles and he finished his prep career at Manual Arts High School during the second half of the season. Glick played one varsity season for the Lions before being ruled ineligible due to signing a minor league baseball contract at 16. Norman Brooks Roy III (November 15, 1928 – March 22, 2011) was a Major League Baseball pitcher. Nicknamed "Jumbo" and listed at and , he batted and threw right-handed. Roy was born in Newton, Massachusetts, and grew up in Waltham, where he attended Waltham High School. He was signed by the Boston Braves in 1947, and spent four years with Class-B Pawtucket Slaters (1947) and AAA Milwaukee Brewers (1948–49, 1951) before joining the Braves in the 1950 season. Roy posted a 4–3 record and a 5.13 ERA in 19 appearances for the Braves, including six starts, two complete games and one save. He allowed 38 runs (34 earned) on 72 hits and 39 walks while striking out 25 in 59 innings of work. Roy later returned to the Brewers (1951) and also played for AA Atlanta Crackers (1952). After that he developed severe pitching arm problems and was unable to continue his career. He went 27–15 with a 3.52 ERA in 70 minor league games. Norman Eugene Smith (March 18, 1908 – February 2, 1988) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played for the Montreal Maroons and the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League. Rookie career Smith enjoyed much success in his rookie years with the Montreal Maroons. He was playing his 20th game for the Maroons in 1930–31 when Howie Morenz was sent flying into the Maroons net and knocked off Smith, who was so badly injured that he was out for the rest of the season.
