Naʽat
Naat ( bn, নাত; Punjabi and ur, ) is poetry in praise of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad. The practice is popular in South Asia (Bangladesh, Pakistan and India), commonly in Bengali, Punjabi or Urdu. People who recite Naat are known as ''Naat Khawan'' or ''sanaa-khuaan''. Exclusive "Praise to Allah" and Allah alone is called Hamd, not to be confused with 'Na'at'. In Arab countries, lyrics and praises said for Muhammad are called Madih nabawi. History It is difficult to trace the history of Naat khawani since no authenticated record of when it was initiated can be found. One early author, Hassan, was known as ''Shair-e Darbaar-e Risalat''. Even before accepting Islam he was a poet, but after embracing Islam he gave a new turn to his poetry and started writing Na'ats in honor of Muhammad. Behzad Lucknavi
Behzad Lucknavi (born Sardar Hasan Khan; 1 January 1900 10 October 1974) was a Pakistani Urdu poet and lyricist. He primarily wrote naats and ghazals and sometimes radio plays for the All India Radio, Delhi and later for Radio Pakistan after immigrating to Pakistan. Prior to his migration from India, he used to participate in mushairas at an apparent age of twelve after Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari introduced him to the All India Radio. Biography He was born as Sardar Hasan Khan on 1 January 1900 in United Province, British India (in modern-day Lucknow, India). Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi

Khursheed Ahmad
Alhaj Khursheed Ahmad or Khurshid Ahmad ( ur, ) (1 January 1956 – 30 August 2007) was a Naat Khawan from Pakistan. He started to recite Naats when he was only a few years old, and by the time of his death he had recited thousands of Naats. He used to proficiently recite Naats not only in Urdu, but also in other languages such as Punjabi, Saraiki, Pashto and Sindhi. The melody of his voice and the unique way of reciting attracted numerous people towards him and soon he had become a famous Naat Khawan.

Siddiq Ismail
Siddiq Ismail (born 10 February 1954 in Karachi, Pakistan) is a Hamd and Na`at reciter and has made appearances for over 50 years on Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan. Career Siddiq Ismail belongs to the Memon community. His parents migrated from India to Pakistan in 1947 after the Partition of India. He started his career at the age of 6 at a local mosque in Old Town, Karachi. He suffered from poliomyelitis at an early age and became physically handicapped. In 1965, he joined Radio Pakistan program ''Bachon ki Dunya''. Since then, he has been selected regularly for Hamd-Naat recitation on various radio and TV shows in Pakistan. Syed Fasihuddin Soharwardy ( ur, ; born 15 June 1957) is a leading nasheed Khawan or Naat Khawan from Pakistan. Most of his work is in the Urdu language. However, he has performed nasheeds (Naats) in multiple languages including Punjabi, Persian and Arabic. Early life and career He was born on 15 June 1957 in Karachi, Pakistan. Junaid Jamshed
Junaid Jamshed Khan ( ur, ; 3 September 1964 – 7 December 2016) was a Pakistani singer-songwriter, television personality, fashion designer, actor, and preacher. After graduating with a degree in engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, Jamshed briefly worked as a civilian contractor and engineer for the Pakistan Air Force before focusing on a musical career. Jamshed first gained nationwide and international recognition as the vocalist of Vital Signs. Their 1987 album, ''Vital Signs 1'' included the hit singles "Dil Dil Pakistan", and "Tum Mil Gaye".
