Mau5trap (stylized as mau5trap; pronounced "mousetrap") is an independent Canadian record label founded in 2007 by electronic music producer Deadmau5. The label was formerly a vanity label, hosting releases through labels such as Ultra Music, Virgin Records, and Astralwerks. Joel Thomas Zimmerman (born January 5, 1981), known professionally as Deadmau5 (stylized as deadmau5; pronounced "dead-mouse"), is a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ. He mainly produces progressive house music, though he also produces and DJs other genres of electronic music, including techno under the alias Testpilot. ''Random Album Title'' is the third studio album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5, released by Ultra Records and Mau5trap on September 2, 2008. The album includes the singles "Faxing Berlin", "Not Exactly" and " I Remember" (with Kaskade). Following the success of "I Remember" in the UK, ''Random Album Title'' later entered the UK Albums Chart at number 31 in May 2009. Songs The track "Slip" is named after its hook, which intentionally falls out of time with the beat and melody of the song. The original mix of "Faxing Berlin" is 8:37 compared to the mixed album version's length, which is only 2:36. Combined with its preceding acoustic piano intro on the continuous mix version it is 4:15. On the unmixed version, both these tracks are replaced by the original mix. Glenn Morrison (born September 12, 1985) is a Canadian DJ and record producer from Toronto, Ontario. He is best known for his tracks, "Contact", "No Sudden Moves", "Hydrology", and "Circles," produced by Joel Zimmerman aka deadmau5. As a DJ and performer he entertains with melodic progressive house and big-room club sounds. Faxing Berlin
"Faxing Berlin" is an instrumental by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5. It was released as the lead single from his third studio album ''Random Album Title''. On July 23, 2007, "Faxing Berlin" became the first release on Deadmau5's label Mau5trap. The track was originally known as "Da Outer Limits", but was renamed to "Faxing Berlin" later on, during a phone call with Max Graham, when Graham left "to fax omethingover to Berlin". Composition "Faxing Berlin" is a progressive house song with a tempo of 128 beats per minute and is written in the key of D minor. Controversy In 2008, an artist called DirtyCircuit claimed to have been threatened with legal action after using the sample "LP_Faxing Berlin C_128bpm" that came bundled with FL Studio, which Deadmau5 claimed copyright for. Foreign Beggars
Foreign Beggars were an English hip hop and dubstep group. Since their formation in 2002, the group's trajectory had seen them evolve from an underground hip hop group to an electronic crossover act. The group consisted of four artists individually known as Orifice Vulgatron (Pavan Mukhi, vocals), Metropolis Graham (Ebow Enyan Graham, vocals), DJ Nonames (James Miller, turntables), and Dag Nabbit (Dag Torgersbraten, producer). ''Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'' is the second extended play (EP) by American electronic music producer Skrillex. It was released exclusively through Beatport on October 22, 2010 through mau5trap and Big Beat Records, while being released on December 20 for digital download via other online retailers and on March 1, 2011 as a physical release. It was recorded in 2010 at Skrillex's apartment using a laptop. The EP features guest contributions from Penny, Foreign Beggars and Bare Noize as well as remixes done by Noisia, Zedd and Bare Noize. Sonny John Moore (born January 15, 1988), known professionally as Skrillex, is an American DJ and music producer.
