There are currently two earldoms of Mar in the Peerage of Scotland, and the title has been created seven times. The first creation of the earldom is currently held by Margaret of Mar, 31st Countess of Mar, who is also clan chief of Clan Mar. The seventh creation is currently held by James Erskine, 14th Earl of Mar and 16th Earl of Kellie, who is also clan chief of Clan Erskine. The earldom is an ancient one. The first named earl is Ruadrí, who is known to have been alive in 1128, though an unnamed earl is mentioned as being present at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014. In 1435 the earldom was seized by King James II, and was then granted to several royal children who produced no heirs. The sixth creation was for James Stewart, illegitimate son of King James V, who was stripped of the title after a rebellion in 1565. Manuel "Mar" Araneta Roxas II (; born May 13, 1957) is a Filipino politician who served as a Senator of the Philippines. He is the grandson and namesake of former Philippine President Manuel Roxas. He served in the Cabinet of the Philippines as Secretary of the Interior and Local Government from 2012 to 2015. MAA (singer)
MAA is a Japanese recording artist, former TV host and model. Previously known as Mar (stylized as MAR), she was vocalist of the alternative rock band Marbell from 2006 to 2010. When they disbanded she embarked on a solo career, switching to pop music. History MAA was born on January 25, 1986 in Yokosuka, Kanagawa to a Japanese mother and an American father. Mar Cambrollé Jurado (born 1957) is a Spanish trans rights activist. Early life Mar Cambrollé Jurado was born in Seville in 1957. Her father hit her when she was a child because she was feminine. She dropped out of school at age 13, and began working as a dishwasher at age 14. Cambrollé sold crafts in Seville for 14 years, but did not make enough money to set up a storefront. She worked as a prostitute in Barcelona and Italy for a few months, then returned to Seville and used the money she had earned to buy furniture for her house and set up a store. Activity Under the Franco regime, Cambrollé organized the first gay liberation campaign in Andalusia.
