Alex Larke (born Alexis Kenneth Larke; 25 May 1979) (also known as Larkey Larke or Larkey) is a British singer/songwriter that represented the United Kingdom as part of the duo Electro Velvet, in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song " Still in Love with You". For the majority of his career, Larke has been a solo artist, although some of his other musical endeavours have been varied, working with British rock bands, X and Manimal, before later collaborating with electronic act Teflon Child and big beat pioneer, Cut La Roc. In 2017, Larke released his debut solo album, entitled ''Disposable Love''. The album was preceded by two singles, "Shine On" and "Belladonna". Glenda Larke, born Glenyce Larke, is an Australian writer. Biography Larke grew up in Western Australia. She obtained a degree in history and a diploma in education at University of Western Australia and has taught English in Australia, Vienna, Tunisia and Malaysia.She currently resides in Mandurah, Western Australia with her husband, who works with the United Nations, and two children. Larke's first novel, ''Havenstar'' was published in 1998 by Virgin Worlds in the UK under her married name of Glenda Noramly. Joan Larke (c. 1490 – 1532) was the mistress of the powerful English statesman and churchman in the Tudor period, Thomas Wolsey, Archbishop of York, and mother of his two illegitimate children. Wolsey's mistress Joan was born in about 1490 at Yarmouth, Norfolk, the daughter of Peter Larke, variously described as a Thetford innkeeper, common councilman of London or gentleman of Huntingdonshire, whose elder brother was Blessed John Larke. Her brother Canon Thomas Larke, dean of Bridgnorth, was chaplain to Wolsey. In about 1509, when Wolsey served as almoner to the new king Henry VIII of England, Joan became his mistress, living with him at Bridewell Palace. John Larke
John Larke (fl. c. 1500 - died 7 March 1544) was an English Catholic priest and martyr, who was executed during the reign of Henry VIII. Larke was a notable personal friend of Thomas More, Lord High Chancellor of England. Larke was beatified in 1886 by Pope Leo XIII. Life Larke studied at Cambridge University, before serving for twenty six years as rector of St. Ethelburga's Bishopsgate in the City of London. He transferred to a prosperous living as rector of Woodford, Essex, before returning to London four years later, in 1530, when Sir Thomas More appointed him vicar of Chelsea. Larke allegedly swore the Oath of Supremacy in 1534 but, as Cresacre More puts it: "the example of St. Thomas More's death so wrought on his mind that afterwards he followed his own sheep and suffered a famous martyrdom." John Short Larke (May 28, 1840 – April 24, 1910) was Canada's first trade commissioner who represented the country in Australia starting in 1895. Biography John Short Larke was born near Stratton, Cornwall, England, UK. At the age of four, he arrived in Oshawa, Ontario with his parents. Between 1865 and 1878, Larke bought out the owners of the ''Oshawa Vindicator,'' becoming the sole proprietor of a strongly pro-Conservative newspaper in Oshawa, Ontario. In 1894, Larke became Canada's first trade commissioner following a successful trade delegation to Australia led by Canada's first Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mackenzie Bowell.
